I went to attach my battery tender, so I had to remove the left side cover, so I had to remove the saddlebag..  But I couldn't figure out how to remove the power connector on the saddlebag.  And I broke the L-clip  

So I balanced the saddlebag and got the battery tender out, and put things back.   But..  I'd like to know both how to remove that power connector on the saddlebag and where I can get a new clip for it.  It's a '16 CVO SG with about 10 miles on it...

The plugs are available from HD or if you have an electronic store around they should have or be able to get one. You will have to remove the leads and put them in the new plug or cut the wires and make new one completely.

If the connector is the same as on the 17's the you pull up on the top of the connector that will release it.

This may be a dumb question, but that's never stopped me in the past.    

What does the manual say about disconnecting the wiring and removing the bags?  I would think they'd offer an explanation and an illustration.

So it appears the connector has a built-in locking bar.  If it works like the automotive versions I've used, all you need to do is push on the connector(toward the bag) to relieve any stress on the lock and then pull the lock up.  Installation is just the reverse.

The attachment is a cut and paste job from a 2016 manual I found online.

DO NOT CUT THE WIRING to replace the plug. Get someone, a buddy or yourself if you know how and pull the pins from the damaged plug and reinstall in the new one. I buy them from a local electrical supply house but HD has them as well.
I do it with a small screwdriver, gently. I just would hate for you to cut and splice the harness when the connector, my 15 is a Moldex, is so easy to replace. They make a tool that does this very easy, I just get by with a screwdriver.

Have you tried pressing in on the actual connector while prying the lock up?  Doing so might relieve some of the pressure on the ramps of the locks, making them easier to slide.  You might also think about adding a small amount of lubricant, like a dielectric silicone grease, to the ramps of the lock.
