Received these from a friend today. Tossing around the idea of a new purchase.... lord help me.

last one I have
-
I got my eye on the first one. Let's see how good Mrs clause is gonna be good to me,,,
-
Same here, the blue and orange would be my second choice.
-
I like the 12's better but we all have different tastes. If you buy one, enjoy.
-
I like those colors this year.
-
Do the new sg's have water cooled heads?
-
Do the new sg's have water cooled heads?
Yes
-
Take a look at this years colors and paint and it reminds me allot of the Fat Baggers Inc bikes of a few years ago.
-
where can you see the colors
-
I think they are beautiful! I love the carbon fiber detail but agree that the black and chrome wheels would look better but overall I think they are a home run..
Hoping next year they do a similar Roadglide custom..
-
I really like the silver,,, can't wait to see one :2vrolijk_21:
-
im wantin the black and gold one but wanna see it in person first
-
Dealer called and said the silver should be here in about a week. :coolblue:
-
I heard the black and silver will be available immediately to follow with the yellow and black. No further information as to when the other two colors will be showing up at the dealers.
-
My local dealer is suppose to get the purple/orange and yellow/black by end of week.

If you go to check em out post up some pics..
-
I'm going to look at the silver one in about an hour (just rolled off the truck). If I can get the deal I want I'll be riding it home. Gonna be a PITA knocking all that chrome off!!!

Hog, I'll pay you $10 NOT to post any pics of the ultraviolet blue/orange when it gets to your dealer.... ;D :P :2vrolijk_21:
I'm really dreading seeing that bike......I don't want to trade, I don't want to trade....I'm happy with the Ruby, I'm happy with the Ruby..... :D

I went and looked (sorry no pics) at the silver SG and while the numbers were definitely right I don't think I can pull the trigger on one. I'm gonna go look at the yellow one tomorrow and maybe these annoyances will not bother me so much.
- Bars suck!
- Windshield sucks!
- Fuel tank is unbalanced with only a right side filler (no gauge like previous years)
- Left saddlebag is worthless with amp and electrical connectors
The color is gorgeous, love the granite engine cases! The radio rocks! I could definitely see myself buying one, but thinking about it for the past hour it's going take some work to make it fit me and I'm not sure I wanna start over right now. So anyone in south east va who wants one check out baysidehd.com
Oh yeah. This one will be getting a new front fender as there is a huge booger looking clump in the clear coat.

I hope that you are getting one and KEEPING your Road Glide!
Other then my 2009 CVO Road Glide, I would get your color scheme, which I almost did, but didn't want to start all over again.

I'm gonna keep mine and forego a new one this year. Maybe next year I'll just add another, but can't swing two right now.

so what did they do with the fuel gauge? Is it in the dash now?

Yes it's in the dash now. The tank just looks odd with only the filler cap. Not the best pic but the only one I could get.

Something else I remember that I liked. No more flipping the fork switch to the run position. It's all on the bars now and the fork lock is only for locking forks.

Here's the blue one that arrived today. It's pretty sweet. Nothing negative to say about it. If we can work out a satisfactory trade in allowance, it's going to be mine.
-
Does someone have a picture of the amp in the saddlebag?
-
Does someone have a picture of the amp in the saddlebag?
No pic, but it's located in the left bag at the rear running top to bottom and there's a big @$$ connector right in the rear that takes up half the width of the bag. That amp really puts out the tunes though but for me I'd need to add a Tourpak to get the same storage I have on my '12 with no bag speakers.
-
Saw the silver and black CVO SG today at my local dealer. Nice bike but I still like my '12 better. A few observations:
-The inner fairing is painted but not the mirrors, bezel for mail slot in dash, or speaker grilles. Pretty lame on their part.
-There is no rider backrest or sissy bar or docking kit.
-IF you wish to remove the lowers you cannot. They now have the cooling system in them.
-The bike is $36,365 MSRP which means at my dealer it will be right at $37k with prep and freight. OUCH.
Again nice looking bike but IMO they left much to be desired for almost 40k.
-
Can someone post some more good quality pictures of the silver, front and sides. I am on the fence on a new one and really need to see some pics.
Thanks in advance.

What are looking to trade in? I stopped in a dealer today. They have two CVO SG's coming in, both spoken for. We discussed a possible purchase, the offer on my 11 CVO SG2 with under 10K was a total with tax benefit of $23,000. :-\ I'm not drooling for a new bike so I'm going to sit on this for a while, maybe re visit after the new year?
Just an FYI of what's happening up my way.

is the amp different from the one that they put in the 2013 rgcvo? my amp is in the left saddlebag but it sits pretty tight up against the back wall, and the electrical plug coming into the bag only sticks out a small amount. i have easily been able to put my saddlebag liner in when touring and remove it at the destination with no problem. if i'm not touring, i live the liner out, but i am still able to put my half helmet in the left bag when i stop somewhere. i really don't notice the amp and connector taking up that much room.

Beautiful bike and congrats. If I were in the trading mood, this would be the one sitting where Ginger currently is....

It would not be worth the $15K difference to me either. Plus another $2k or more in extras. Seems like more people are getting low balled on trade prices (though a few are doing better than they probably should).. My feelings are if they get list for thir bike, you should get top dollar for yours, but they want to make a killing on the trade too.

Nope sure didn't. Didn't paint the vent in the dash or the speaker grilles. No passenger sissy bar, pad, or docking kit. Drop 37k and bust out the checkbook to make it the way it should have came at that price point. Typical Harley! Even my dealer employees were laughing saying they were overpriced and left much to be desired for the money! Sad!
-
I went and looked at the silver one today. Needless to say I'm picking it up tomorrow... I'll post more pics once I get her home. Pictures DO NOT do it justice. The paint is just simply AMAZING!!!

THANKS!!! I was torn between this one and the purple/orange one. This paint on here just POPS in the sunlight!!!!
-
thanks for all the pics. If anyone sees a black street glide, will you please take pics and let me know which dealer. I would be willing to ride 2 hours to see it in person.
I saw the hard candy Tues and couldn't believe how I liked that color. Tried to make a deal on it, but the dealer wanted an additional premium. I am sure someone else bought it.
My deposit is on a black one thats due in Nov! Sure hope the black is as nice as the hard candy!
-
Some dealers I talked to wanted anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000 OVER the internet MSRP for the Hard Candy . I'm buying mine for the book MSRP OF $35,499 plus freight and prep. I think the black one might be a sleeper, but when it gets out in the sun, I bet it's going to be bad ass...

Well just spoke to local Dealer and they have the dark blue/orange SESG sitting there asking MSRP. If anyone is interested in that color contact the Jackson MS dealer.

I can take pics tonight when I go look at one if you want.

I never had a problem with the bars but we couldn't reach an agreement on the trade. We were $2k apart. While they were playing the 'let me check with my manager game' for the 3rd time (which is so tiring and lame) I called another dealership from my salesman's landline that had the same bike scheduled to arrive on 9/22. Told them where I was (arch rivals) what I wanted for my trade and that I was ready to pull the trigger. They called me back on my cell in 10 minutes, gave me the extra 2K for the trade, and I gave them a deposit over the phone. Last piece of negotiating left is the freight and set up but I think we can work that out. Last thing the original sales manager told me after I passed on their deal was that I wouldn't get a better offer. I told him that thanks to him, I already did. He look puzzled. I was grinning. Life is good.

Anyone in pittsburg near hot metal that can take a picture for me?

not necessary. i was just curious as to how much they differed physically since i have one in the left bag and it hasn't hindered my use of the saddlebag.

I just took her out for about 100 mile trip. Handlebars are fine and bike ran really good for no tune yet. Just picked up my silver streak today. About 50 miles on it. Some very initial observations: coming off a 120 street glide the bike has adequate power for its intended purpose. Not impressed with ride as compared to my GSA or 06 street glide. Very hard on my boney butt. The bike will need a higher windscreen. Do not like the triangle shaped grips even a little bit. The fit and finish is great. Glad I picked the silver. In all a nicely executed bike. But for long distance rides I will definitely take the GSA. Just my initial thoughts which obviously are subject to change. Spook

Do you have the rear shocks set too stiff? If you don't adjust them properly they are very harsh.
-
I just checked the preload and it was set at minimum. I weigh 215 and do not ride 2 up. Not sure what to do with the shocks to make them tolerable as from the dealership every tar strip was felt. Bumps were not pleasant. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Spook

Minimum is for 180. You need to look at the manual.

I've heard you Gotta get some miles on 'em and loosen them up, after 1000 to 1500 miles they will feel much better

No sense looking at the instructions!! I just was going over the bike. Looks like Mother Harley forgot to put in one of the primary cover bolts. Must be some kind of custom touch to the $37K bike. Sheesh. Thanks for the replies. Spook

Well one thing didn't change on the '15's was quality control!!!!

Or the gas gauge off the tank.

Anyone got a pic from the back with the passenger pillion off? Do they have the strips under the seat like the 2012?
And what goodies come with the cvo this year? cover, brass key, tool kit, etc.

32,??? Even came with a backrest for the passenger. Not that you needed one on a touring bike ;)

I would suggest that before you ride very many miles you take a few hours and put a wrench on every bolt to make certain they are all tight. When I did it you would be surprised how many were figure tight or almost loose enough to fall out. I would also buy the silver if I was a buying!

Thx for replies. Wrote my 2012 off after a bad accident a few months ago, and hope to be back in the saddle next spring. Just put a down payment on the black one, unfortunately we dont get to see them in person till late winter early spring. I also notice no antennae, does it come with the HD hidden antennae?

Hey Wiseasp,
Beautiful bike. I notice you a Marylander; can you share with us the price you paid; a Local dealer wants 36349 +300 Dealer processing+ 465 freight + 435 dealer prep+ tax and tags; did you pay this, less , or more. Not a Hard Candy color
Dealer is offering 18k trade on 14 SG w abs and alarm (not a special).
Your thoughts on MD deal? Appreciate it.

Just a question...no criticism intended, but wondering why if you put a tour pack and spots on the CVO street glide why didn't you just buy a CVO Ultra instead? Just wondering. Thanks. Spook

Because the ass on the ultra is hideous.
-
I put spots on my CVO SG for safety so I can be seen/see day and night. The stock head light isnt bright enough for me while riding at night. The TP was needed for storage while on long trips and I wanted another break light for safety. To answer your question, I didn't want to buy another CVO Ultra. I owned a CVO 2008 Ultra and I found it not a versatile bike. My new SG accessories and seat can be removed easily for solo riding or added for two up. I personally wanted a new bike with a versatile setup to enjoy all riding scenarios. BIGGEST selling point was the paint! Love the Hard Candy Mercury.
-
Thanks for the clarification. Makes sense to me. I too really like my silver bike. Had spots on my 06 street glide. Agree with you regarding the rear end on the ultra. Thanks again. Spook

Certain things on the custom are much more disirable than the Ultra IMO. The dash, rear, style of paint job and in previous years the lack of lowers. On my bike I added the tourpak, heated grips and Gerbings power supply which sets up perfectly for me.
To each their own.

Hey, thanks very much for the heads up on this. I went there this morning. Nice guys there. They brought the bike outside for me. Pics really don't do it justice. The orange pops, and the blue is actually pretty cool. Still undecided however. I need to see the silver again. Help. I think I need buyers therapy.

I was torn between that one and the hard candy. I saw the hard candy first and jumped on that one. Did you get any pics of the blue one in the sunlight?

I saw the Silver in person and it certainly pops in the sun. The blue and orange is really nice too. I would really love to have the new dash and infotainment system, but I just don't like the overall paint scheme better than my '11. Of course it's all personal choice, but my '11 is set up just as I want it, runs great and has 4k miles. To start over at this point seems like quite a task to me. For $36k +, I'd consider buying an older SG and doing a total custom big wheel bagger. Let's be honest...we buy the CVO's for 2 main reasons...the engine and the looks. For $36k, a lot of options open up. Besides, orange is my favorite color and I have the orange '11 SG.

I bought a 2010 Ultra, in 2009 after a long debate SG vs Ultra. I decided to buy an Ultra because I figured I could make my Ultra into a SG by stripping off parts until I had a SG. After five years I still haven't made mine into a SG, and don't plan to, because of how much it'll cost to do everything. And I think I'm gonna trade into a 2011 SG, even thought I think its crazy, because I'll keep spending money to chase something that I might still not be content with. I have 30k miles on the Ultra no complaints on how it goes down the road, she's just not pretty enough.

Just got my 2011 paid off this week. Some pretty rides and good features so I wish you all the best. Wish I could pull the trigger on a new ride but just not into doing this contracting as a career any more.
Now tonight I'll call my local dealer and see what they have to say about a trade it. Love inflicting pain on myself but I gotta check it out just to see what they say. The answer will push me away I'm sure.

That was my thought for awhile now. Yes I know, the rear fender on the sg looks better (even though I can't see it when I'm riding), but you get so much more for the $. ie,
Tour pack
Heated seat
Remote lockable bags
Heated hand grips
Intercom
Cb
And so on.

I stripped my baby down today to solo seat. Put the tour back and 1 piece long distance seat up, did a quick detail and quickly remembered why I own the CVO SG and not the Ultra. Feels light and kind of like driving a late 60's model hot rod. Don't get better then that get the best of both worlds. :2vrolijk_21:

As expected..actually I didn't expect it to be this low. $20k for trade in value. Definitely ain't going that route so Big Blue with be with me for a very long time. Not disappointed in keeping it but it sure proves the resale value of Harley's is now just chit. Don't see a new one in my future with depreciation like that. Big enough changes in the new ones to just sink the old fleet. Lesson learned.

4 model yrs later your cvo is reasonably worth 2/3 what you paid for it. What car holds it's value that well....not very many. You may not like the price of the '15, but it's not cause of your trade.
-
New one is only $3,000 more than what I paid for mine which has around 14,400 miles and tons of upgrades (which we know never comes back into play). If I was home and needed to upgrade I'd put it on eBay. Guess losing $10,000 for my low mileage 2006 GTO that I sold this past April pales in comparison.

Did you get that at Harley of Baltimore?
Only thing that bike should have came with was black wheels... Looks good! I was going to try and buy the Hard Candy from Chris, but he had a deposit already on it. He said the yellow was the first CVO he was getting. I finally went and bought the hard candy from Rommels in Annapolis. Good luck brother!!!

Have you taken delivery from Rommel or on order?

Yellow looks awesome as well. I don't think it needs Black wheels as much as Black fork lowers.
I'm still undecided between Yellow or Hard Candy. Both were suppose to ship already but haven't.
Is there a part delay on these? Or is HD just running behind?

Well thanks to my good buddy Joevibe, I've got ANOTHER picture of the UltraV blue/orange bike. I believe this one is in Nashville. Why, why, why did the MoCo make another Blue and orange scooter? I had just got over the one I missed (and mentioned before on other posts) of the 2010 CVO Fat Bob (the blue pearl/hellfire flames bike) at K'ville HD...should'a bought that bike many times over. Now they go and do it to me all over again. Crap......
.....that shore be a purdy bike, btw.

I just bought (10/7) the UV Blue and Molten Lava.. Beautiful.. I didn't think that much about it from the pics but. saw it in person and it looked black in the shade,, I loved it,, then I rolled her in the sun and it turned dark purple .. and I said oops.. then looked at a different angle .. and sure enough its dark blue.. It changed colors about 4 times depending on the angle and the light.. I love it Reminds me of an old school hot rod color and the orange graphics really pop .. very happy with it so far..... :)
