Title: Yaffe Monkey Bars on 2010
Post by: JustDennis on October 07, 2014, 09:58:04 AM
I want to put either 10" or 12" Yaffe Monkey Bars on my 2010 FLHXSE but not really sure what all I need.  I have been following the threads here and am still not sure if the bars with work with the hydraulic clutch.  I talked to sales at Yaffe and they said that I would need to get a different clutch part for the bars to work.

Have any of you used the Yaffe MBB with stock parts?  They suggested I call Hill Country Customs.  Really just looking for direction.  Thanks

I put Yaffe's 12" on mine and replaced all the lines, including the front brake lines from under the triple trees to the front brakes, clutch line and the lines to & from the ABS.

I bought the whole setup from Yaffe. Worked perfect!

I hear the 10" can use stock lines. Their are some threads on here if your run a search.

By the way, I love my 12" bars. You can still see with your stock mirrors on the fairing. You cannot with the 10's.

So you didn't have any issues with the hydraulic clutch not fitting?

Put 10's on mine and only extended wiring but not cuz I had too but wanted to to keep things in original location under the fairing. No issues with clutch master cylinder like they say may happen. Some have said yaffe makes a set of bars for CVO that have a flat  spot milled on them for clutch master clearance issues but no flat spot in mine and they work fine!! 2011 flhxse2

Thanks, when I spoke to Yaffe yesterday, they told me they didn't have a special set of bars for my application (CVO) but that I could get a different clutch part.  Sounds like I can just get the regular 10" bars.  I appreciate the response.  I will probably extend the wires also.  Getting ready for winter projects!

JD,

Have a look at this thread I started a while back.  I did 14" PYO MBBs, and I did +8 on the brake and clutch line.

The clutch MC may touch the bars, but it's a non issue.

Let me know if you have any questions I can help answer.
