FXDSE tires
« on: June 20, 2019, 06:45:54 AM »

Has anyone had experience running any tire other than the stock size and brand (Dunlop) on a FXDSE? For instance mine has Dunlop 80/90-21's on the front. These might not be the originals might have been MH90's. that are wearing badly!  I was considering going to a Metz, me888 90/90-21 on the front for a better ride {did the same on my wide glide) and the corresponding me888 rear tire. Any input?  Rich.

Stock tires for the FXDSE and FXDSE2:

Front > D408F   MH90-21  54H    MH90 is equivalent to an 80/90 in metric.
Rear  > D407    170/60R17  78H

Someone else will have to answer your question about alternative brands, I just thought you might want this information on what came stock.

While I'm doing the tire change.... I'm a little concerned about removing and reinstalling the tires on these wheels and scratching, gouging & generally damaging them.  I have been changeling all tires at home on mostly laced wheels then adding Dyna beads with no issues. (Had enough of the dealer or repair shops charging $$$ and the wheels coming back with a bunch of unsightly weights!). Thanks for any help!!
