This year will be the 19th Annual Leesburg, FL Bikefest which is billed as the Largest 3 Day Motorcycle and Music Event!  So what should you expect if you attend this event?



I know what you are thinkin’!  Damn I wish I could make it there for this one!  No worries!  That’s why I’m will be there!  To give it the full experience and fill ya in!

I have been to 12 of them. Major crowds, crappy vendors, Hot, lots of standing for the bands/shows etc. But I still keep going, be there tomorrow by noon.
And the one thing that really sucks is they started allowing trikes on the main drag, Just not enough room with bikes parked on both sides and the middle, v e r y scary.

In the year 1997, the first annual Leesburg Bike Fest event took place with only 4 vendors , a couple of bands and canned beer, with about 5,000 motorcyclists attending .

Since then Leesburg Bikefest is hosted over 20 city blocks with attendance over 300,000!  Leesburg’s population is ~ 20,000!

Leesburg has a total area of ~ 24 square miles with ~ 6 miles of it being water.  Of course there is a stretch of land for bikes too!

During the Leesburg Bikefest, the streets of Leesburg are lined with thousands of food vendors.  There are variety of cuisines to cater the needs of various people around the world.

And form it DID!  A HUGE crowd indeed!  You could not even walk around.  I was at front stage however with all of the excited attendees and those who had been consuming all day…NOPE!  Backed out after the first two ladies!   :)   :(

You know it’s time to go when a drunk older women, that apparently spent her ~ 65+ years baking in the sun says slurring…”Hey you!  Pick me up and put me over the barricade!”  When I replied “NO”!  She said, “I only weigh 80 pounds” and I am thinkin’ 10 of them are liquor…NOPE!  Exit stage left!   ;)

The next morning I was informed that the ladies in the contest were from the Ms Budweiser Contest plus several others so….   ???

End result…No Ms Leesburg Bikefest photos!   :(

The Disc-Connected K9s began rescuing dogs in 1992. Since that time, we have rescued, covered veterinary costs, trained basic obedience (when necessary) taught disc (Frisbee) skills, and then qualified and adopted these dogs into new homes. Through all these years, hundreds of dogs and countless hours of training, they have never once ever charged anyone one cent of money. Their program is 100% free for everyone involved in our program.

All of our current performing dogs are rescued; meaning they have all come from either homeless, sheltered, rescued, adopted or abandoned backgrounds. They make the determination (and have all most stayed true) about whether or not we are personally going to keep a dog, or process them through our program and find them new homes. With few exceptions, this has been successful for them; with very few regrets. There have been a couple of dogs that we adopted out and then they turned out to be the most amazing disc dogs; and then we have had a few that for whatever reason, even though they were great disc dogs, they were unable to keep them personally. In all cases though, they have to do what is best for each dog and his future.

Main Street was full of rides…even burn outs with police all around!  No issues!

Jock, it was great hanging out for a while and catching up.  Just flew home a few days ago, unpacked, now packing back up to fly back down to FL next week and ride back to Spokane.  Stopping at RibFest of course. Let's Roll
