How to leave the radio on?
« on: April 27, 2016, 11:44:21 AM »

This may sound like a dumb question but is it possible to turn the bike off but leave the radio playing?  I can't find anything in the manual related to this.

With the bike turned off, hold down the black button on top of the left controls. You will see your dash light up and the radio will turn on.

X2 I believe MOCO calls that a "trigger switch". It's the same one that resets trip meter.

CVO street glide.

I know the little black button trick on the left controls but I want to roll into a parking spot, turn off the bike, and leave the radio running so I wouldn't be without tunes when im taking my helmet, jacket, gloves, etc off.

Is it possible or do I have to use the little black button on left control after the bike is off?  My bluetooth music gets cut off and takes a while to repair with the bike.

As far as I know that's the only way.

Try flipping the ignition switch off and then back on real quick maybe?

Hopefully you would also turn it way down so only you could hear it? Other people's loud music is not a good thing. Just sayin. We have noticed lately that for some reason everyone with a custom stretched bagger feels it necessary to blast the stereo while cruising slowly and parked, sorry sore subject with me and not part of this thread.

How long does it take to remove your helmet, gloves, jacket. etc.... ?

If I'm not finished with a song when I pull up to park, I'll turn it back down to a comfortable level and either finish the song after killing the engine with the engine run switch, or skip it back to the beginning and start it over again when I'm ready to leave.

That's what the OP wants to be able to do, but you can't with the 2014 and later bikes.  There is no ignition switch like the one on the 2013 and earlier models, so when you shut the engine down with the run/stop switch you shut everything down.  So I guess he will have to let the engine idle while removing his gear and listening to the rest of his song.  It's not a bad idea to let the bike idle for a minute or so anyway, so the oil pump scavenges as much oil as possible back to the pan.

I was hoping there was a way to do this.  My reason is that for a quick stop....I wouldn't have to wait for the boom, GPS and Bluetooth to reboot.

I think I will try the fast ignition off then on to see if that works.

I just glad I'm not the only one look for this feature.

No kidding. Sucks when you stop for gas and have to wait over 30 seconds for it all to reboot again.

Just tried this to make sure, when you come to a stop and kill the bike if you hit the trigger switch within three seconds holding it down and then releasing, whatever device you were listening to will return and play from where you left off at. No reboot time.

I do the above for short stops or just turn ignition back on if getting gas or such on a trip.  I hate waiting the minute or more for the nav to initialize, then calculate the route.

I found a workaround, not sure if its safe but just come to a complete stop, open the jiffy stand while in gear, the motor will cut out and the music will keep on playing

To keep the radio (or navigation) running while you gas up, hold down the black accessory button as you kill the motor.

With the key fob present you can press the trip button down and hold for 3 seconds and it will turn on the accessories (radio). No matter hold long the kill switch has been off. I cannot speak for the 2020's though. But I believe that is the case for 2014's -2019's.

My bike does that, but if the ignition was on and I hold the trigger switch down as I turn off the kill switch, everything turns off.
