Hey there 2009FLTRSE3.  Just noticed there was no follow up post after your first one here asking how to keep your bike from getting dusty.  Please don't get too shook up over what transpired in this thread after your question.  Just started to say we weren't laughing at you we were laughing with you; but I'd have been full of chit if I did.  There was a little laughing at you going on.  But that's ok.  We do it to each other all the time.  So grab a beer and play along.

HeHe!!! Well that REALLY splained everything Don!!! ::) :P :D :D :D

Now how can I keep all this damn dust off my bike? :o ;D ;D ;D ;)

I do use de-ionized water when I hafta wash the bike...The kid that washes it does too, worth the dough, no spots...wash, rinse, leaf blower, presto...Good for another few months...Silver bikes rule for not showing dirt!

When the bike gets dusty, do like I do....nothing better than pure, clean rain water!
Park the bike outside, wait for rain, wipe dry.
That happens here about 4x per year, thus, my bike is always "dusty"!!!

Hehe!!! In NYC, ya can then watch the paint peel off after it goes thru our atmosphere!!! ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, with the pollution, that leaves bad spots here. ;)

Try using the 360 degree Swiffer duster. You can get them just about anywhere.  I've found it to work great on my springer. I just change out the duster before it get very dirty.  I live fairly close to a busy highway and get dust from that after a couple of days.  It seems like the Swiffer duster acts like it is negatively charged and draws the dust onto itself without having to really contact the paint much.

Your bike shouldn't be getting dusty in the garage.  It should be getting dusty sitting in your local HD shop awaiting the head update/recall, or heated grips or et al!

I agree, let the stealership clean it while it is in waiting for the recall to be fixed. :P If not then I use a california car duster when it needs to be dusted off.  :bananarock:
