I agree, let the stealership clean it while it is in waiting for the recall to be fixed. :P If not then I use a california car duster when it needs to be dusted off.  :bananarock:

Let me see if I got this right.......your dealer actually CLEANS you bike when you have it in for service???? What a novel concept!
Out here, our dealers usually leave fingerprints, and smudges all over your paint when you get it back, and the typical response is:  "Well, it was like that when you brought it in"!

I do use de-ionized water when I hafta wash the bike...The kid that washes it does too, worth the dough, no spots...wash, rinse, leaf blower, presto...Good for another few months...Silver bikes rule for not showing dirt!
Man I hope that's your kid washing the bike.

Hi, Just thought I would try and fit the canvas CVO cover that the stealership supplied me with. Despite having undertaken lots of fairly serious technical mods to my SE without trouble, I just cant get this damm thing to fit. Can anyone clue me in on this thing or shall I just bin it !!   Nick

The Dealer gave you the wrong cover I bet! They gave me a "91625-04 softtail cover" for my Dyna.
Then they gave me a "91691-05 OZ/v-Rod-CVO"?

Look inside the cover and read the tag, good luck.

Not sure how long you are leaving the bikes parked to get this much dust buildup, but it must be coming up from the bottom. I use a cover made from cotton, my wife sewed it together, use a Exigent for pattern. Made it a little longer so it touches the floor all the way around and I have little or no dust, even if I leave the bike for a couple weeks while on vacation. We keep 2 fans, one a ceiling type and one a Home Depot floor fan, both running on high 24/7 due to humidity so lots of air movement, but no dust on bike.

If you really hate dust on your bike, then invest in the Harley Bubble.  It doesn't take long to set up and it will keep the bike virtually dust free.  I use it all winter long here in the Midwest and when I take her out in March she's just as clean as she was when I put her away in December.  Keeps the moisture out too...

While my bike is parked in the garage I keep a queen size sheet draped over the bike. The cotton sheet breaths well and seem to keep my bike somewhat dust free. My previous bike was a Heritage and a queen bottom sheet fit just fine. I now have a CVO Ultra and I have sewn the bottom fitted sheet and about 24 inches of the top sheet together (length wise). The cover that comes with the CVO is too bulky and difficult to put on or take off quickly.

Ride MOnday through Saturday---wash on Sunday.  Every week for three years.   Seems to solve the problem

The fans work, but I also follow a similar regimen.   :2vrolijk_21:

Well, I am lucky...the detailer has a trailer and works at my cigar shop once a month doing the other lazy and anal retentive bastards bikes ...so I manage to pipe down a coupla ales and smoke a cigar then go out and point at things he missed.... which is rare, he is good...does boats and airplanes too...

This is what I use to keep the dust off my SERG.  Check out:  www.thebikebarn.net

Now you see it…
