Title: DEALER DIP DOTS AND KEYCHAINS
Post by: custardglide on April 18, 2008, 12:14:17 PM
Does any of you guys out here fancy helping a brother out, I collect dipdots ( I STICK THEM ALL ON THE INSIDE OF THE TOURPAK LID)and dealer rubber keyrings, If anyone would like to send me their local dealer dipdots i could send you my local deaer dipdot by return. Keyrings would be gratefully received but I would be struggling to exchange keychains as my dealer is usually out or understandably keeping them back for bike purchases. BTW see you at the 105th in aug @ Milwaukee i'll be coming over for that one. If anyone wants reinbursing for the dipdots let me know i'll sort you the cash out, cheers CUSTARD :bananarock: :bananarock: :bananarock:

 :worthless:

It's a small ('bout the size of a quater) round metal sticker.  It goes on the dipstick, hence Dip Dots.  It has the logo of the dealer of origin for said dip dot.  Some of the cheaper dealers stick a pin needle on the back and sell them as dealer pins but most just give them away or charge a few cents.  They're almost always black around the edge with a gold bar and shield log in the middle and the dealer name and city in the black.

Ride Safe,
J-Carr

Hey, I could be right!  Maybe dippin dots translated into The Kings English is dipdots!

Kind of like sausage and mashed potatoes = bangers and mash.

I've tried to collect them from every dealer I visit but they're becoming more rare these days and some dealers don't have them anymore.

For a man with 15 motorcycles I would expect you to have quite a collection of dip dots.

My 03 is the only one that had one on it when I bought it.

The most amazing thing to me is, even though insignificant and trivial, I actually knew something you guys didn't already know!  ;D

Uh huh, you're exactly right about the internet.  It's especially cool how you can take those pictures and make them look real when you see them in person!  ;)

That's it Don, I use to collect them also the the dealers saw they they could seld them to visitors and make a few bucks, usually no more than $5.  But now if they charge they can keep them.  Also some dealers give out the plastic licence plate frames and some also give out the dealer palstic license plates, have a few of those. Let's Roll

Perfect timing for this to be brought up again. While on the way to Sedona we stopped in Kingman Az at the HD shop on the counter they had Dip Dots so I got you one, only problem I could not remember who collected them (now I know).
If you could pm me your address I can send you a Dip Dot from  "Route 66 Mother Road HD"
