From GTS manual page 196 Turning CB On:
Navigate: Home>Communications>CB
Trouble is that I see no "Communications option" to select ??? . Apparently, rogercm and I cannot find a way to get to the "communications screen" posted by Serdvd6. My communications symbol (the headset graphic on the home screen below the large Navigation graphic) is greyed out! Will visit dealer today and ask if a flash setting is involved in order to enable the CB and perhaps even the Intercom (which I haven't as yet tried out with a BSR). When they first flashed the GTS they enabled the WHIM setting (for Apple Carplay), but because they overlooked enabling the GPS setting I had no navigation screen …….only a "compass" :confused5: I suspect similar may be true for the CB.
UPDATE: I've a service appointment 5/23 when they'll hook up Digital Tech and "figure it out". In the meanwhile …..has anyone here had experience with this situation and can confirm that it's a flash setting issue?

Yes I see the headset insignia is greyed out, I should have started with that screen, mine is lit and obviosity it lets you select it, then takes you to the screen to select the CB.
I'm sure its something to do with the flash, keep us posted.

Found what appears to be an educated answer to my question posted by Phrogg on the RoadGlide.org forum:

"CB and WHIM will work together. You do have to flip the switches in the digital tech to enable the CB, Intercom, and WHIM separately. What doesn’t work between WHIM and CB is the wired Mic is disabled if the WHIM is physically plugged in. If you just have the wired headset plugged in it works fine with the CB even with WHIM enabled but not physically there."

Explains why neither the CB nor intercom are functioning. Have an appointment with Harley Tech 5/23 to flash correctly.

Did anyone answer the question about weather or not the TPMS system still works when going to the GTS Radio?

Watched the Harley Tech flash my 2015 FLTRUSE to accept the GTS and pleased to report CB and Intercom are now functioning properly. Saw the option to activate the TPMS system but didn't bother because my 2015 doesn't have the 2016 and newer wheels equipped with pressure sensors. I understand the TPMS system would work if I were willing shoulder the prohibitive cost to replace my rims.

Also saw the option for "DAB" (Digital Audio Broadcasting) and, not knowing what is was, asked the Tech to activate it. Now wish I hadn't as DAB isn't used much here in the USA and just takes up space on my options display :nixweiss:.

Thanks for that. I use DAB all the time in the U.K. and wondered if and how it would be available if I upgraded.

I thought the wheels were the same on our '15s as the '16s. Just add the sensors. Wouldn't be the first time today I was wrong about something though.

I believe you're right that the sensor could be added to any wheels, however, I seem to recall that you'd need to replace the BCM for a later one too.

Hi, just wanted to share my experience with the new upgrade GTS. I have a 2016 CVO Ultra Limited which the wife and I travel a lot on. I have had to deal with having my phone as my main component, sending my music and navigation through the old GT system to hear. Never did use the radio for anything else. Waste of money IMO, so when I saw they finally came out with the GTS for the older touring bikes and added Android auto, I had to give it a try and am I glad I did!! In my opinion for me this upgrade was worth every penny. I was fortunate to find the radio for my Road Glide at $1,600. It took 20 minutes to install and 10 minutes to program (turning off WHIM because I don't use VOICE) then did the software upgrade to have Android Auto on the radio and it all worked flawlessly. Tire pressure MONITORS, SPEEDOMETER, OIL pressure etc..

Now I have the best of the last great touring bikes since Harley has yet to come out  with a  new  Road Glide CVO Ultra LIMITED. With the V-TWIN, I have the 117, I have the new RADIO head unit and Soundz 6 speaker system. She's got all the power I could ever want and all the sound I will ever need. I wish I had this head unit for the last 5 years of motorcycle trips I've been on!!!

I think I figured out why my wife let me put so much money into the audio system of the bike... now the bike is virtually brand-new again and a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new CVO. ( which I wouldn't do until they come out with a Road Glide CVO Ultra Limited again and the motor would have to be a hell of a lot bigger than a 117 FROM the FACTORY to make it worth considering (I know about the 134 crate motor I'm just not willing to spend another $7,000 on an extra motor)

So if you are contemplating buying Harley's new GTS radio for your 14 through 16 Harley, IMO, if you travel a LOT, it's well worth the investment. And don't be afraid to install it yourself!! it's super easy on a Road Glide. Unplug all the plugs in the back, take out the four screws, lift the radio out, put the new radio. it's just that simple. You don't need the Soundz interface that is strictly for radios that do not have the a after them and if you have a CVO, the USB cord is the same cord that goes to the GTS, so you do not need to purchase a new cord. There is no difference!!

Thanks for the feedback. Would love to do this upgrade on my 18 CVO Road Glide. Really want Apple CarPlay. Just can’t afford it right now.
