They really do have great burgers and their fries rival those that we used to get in Belgium.  Or at least the memory has faded enough to believe that to be true.   ::)

Brian, I did not think Kathy was going to put a trailer behind her bike.   :nixweiss:

Will be wiring a hitch on Kathy's  :cherry: this week and from reading here I am not going to install a load equalizer.

The trailer has regular bulbs

Will I need to leave these bulbs in the trailer or install LED's

If I install LED's in the trailer, will I have to install LED's in the whole bike so not to use a load equalizer?
I chose not to use the equalizer also, the odd thing is the bikes flasher memory (amp draw?) stays with the trailer settings. Everything works great with the trailer on but without the trailer, the blinkers are a bit erratic. My trailer is a 5 wire setup and I mini fused each one. Used an aftermarket pigtail that was wired wrong from the factory and blew out some bike fuses and a brake/running modulator so I ended up re wiring the dang thing. It would have taken less time to cut and splice. I always check anything that comes pre wired now. I do remember someone here saying that if all the bike is changed to LED's, you need 2 equalizers, one for the front and one for the back. Don't remember the general consensus on that though.

I miss stated myself earlier. The issue is when you remove the trailer that the current flow is reduced without the trailer. To get proper functionality unplug TMSS module it will reset and turn signals and they will return to normal flash rate.

Related Question:  To go to LED's on the trailer, does one need to replace the whole light fixture or can you just switch to LED bulbs?

Yes, you can go to bulbs - Google L.E.D. Bulbs and you should be able to find a 1157 supplement very easy.

Be careful or you'll find yourself in the same situation as me, having LEDs that don't fit.

I went to Pep Boys auto parts store and bought some bulbs for the rear turn signals. They don't fit. The 'dish' of the turn signals hit the wide edge of the bulb housing, preventing the bulb from going in far enough to engage the pins.

I went to SuperBrightLEDS.com and ordered my bulbs there and they fit fine.

Bought from SuperbriteLed 5 1157 LED bulbs. 4 for the trailer and 1 spare.  Had to get  red since the lenses were red.
