You may say that jokingly, but I find it ironic that Buzz Kanter's magazine has so many articles that are discussed here first.

Several magazines are like that. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

I'm still not sure how this is going to interface with the HK radio. It all sounds too good to be true.

I just saw the Harley Zumo version today. They charge separately for the car mount. The package does contain a hardcopy manual something the Zumo standard does not. Contained within the manual (if installed by Harley you receive a 12 month warranty but if installed by owner only 90 days). If you purchase and have Harley install when you buy a new bike you receive a 24 month warranty.

Interestingly enough the Zumo warranty is a standard 12 month period.

So... for $799 you receive a hardcopy manual but have to purchase separately a car mount, bike mount and have to pay a Harley technician to install to receive a full 12 month warranty. WoW!

I was thinking about purchasing the Harley version until I saw the fine print.

Find the best deal you can on the Zumo. You will end up changing the mount too one of these http://www.techmounts.com/products
and if you want to download and install the Harley Dealerships go here http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=58075

The Harley dealer called me back today. I stopped by Saturday and looked at the GPS they had in a box. The new Garman GPS that Harley is offering doesn't state (in the parts catalog) that it will work on a Ultra.
The dealer called the Harley tech. line. The dealer told me that he couldn't get a straight answer. Something about it's weight that could cause the bike to be unstable. Only recommended for the roadguide.

The Harley dealer told me to contact other dealers. He didn't understand Harley's response. Something about the bat faring on the Ultra.

Doesn't make sense to me since a touring bike would most likely use a GPS.

Anyone else hear anything like this??

I did notice in the catalog that it only listed the RG.
