Which tuner???
« on: January 16, 2022, 04:22:50 PM »

Any of you here running the power vison PV-3 or the Fuelpak 3 on the convertibles?

looking for how you like it and wondering which way to go? Or let me know which tuner you are running!!!

I just put on the V&H 2 into 1 pro pipe and dig the extra power but feel it needs a tune!

Thanks!!!

there are a few grate tuners out there l like PV3 power vision very very easy to install dont have to stay on the bike dont know if im alowed to say this but if you buy one from Fuel Moto it will come with pre loaded map and a two year warenty on the unit they will also give you life time maps if your doing more to your bike latter down the road you dont need another tuner if you are putting just the pipe on yoir bike im pretty sure the map they send will be pretty close to run grate without a dino tune you would gain a little more with a dino but l dont think it would be that big od differnce

Power Vision is a way more capable tuner than a Fuel pack.

Fuel pack is not a tuner I would even consider.

Power Vision or TTS master tune are the tuners of choice by most people.

Though there are noticeably less people using it, Techno Research seems to have a very capable tuner as well

In the LA area there are a few very good tuners.
Find the one you are comfortable with and let him (her) do a proper tune. It’s worth it in the long haul

I’ve used TTS exclusively since’09 on my bikes and have been satisfied. It allows me to upgrade as I change things and has been 100% reliable over the years.

If you can’t find one at the usual outlets maybe you can call The Turbo Shop direct and ask them.

They have been very helpful in the past for me.

I would suspect that some shops have what you want in their inventory.

I like my V&H Fuel Pac. I have owned TTS, Powercommander and The original HD Race tuner and used both canned downloads and had the bikes tuned on dyno with reputable people who did quality work. But if your just changing pipes and or intakes the V&H units just do a great job. V&H will help you choose if you call but the unit is so easy to use I can't imagine paying a tuner anymore.
The software based companies are looking at a dim future and the electronic units are prevelant in the auto/truck market already. I know the old timers are critical of the Fuel Pac but I would think most of them ever used one.

If you think a FP3 is equal to a TTS when it comes to how well your bike runs ,, You will be leaving a lot on the table.

I can't Imagine a V&H Fuel Pac could possibly tune my 2019 CVO. Cubic inches are larger than stock, compression is higher than stock, injectors are larger than stock, throttle body is larger than stock, valves are larger than stock and of course a cam and headpipe and air cleaner.

Honestly a TTS or Powervision in a competent tuners hands can get more out of a stock bike, make it run smoother and be more responsive.

That said if just a exhaust and air cleaner a Fuel Pac is fine.

If you're spending $413.00 on a Fuel Pack 3, you might as well go with TTS or PV and be able to get the most out of of the tuner and be able to have it dyno tuned if wanted

Dyno graph above says it all. Same bike, same day. Only add on's are V&H head pipes, V&H slip on's and Screamin' eagle air cleaner. From FP3 To TTS is 8 lb. feet of torque, and 8 horse power. Not to mention how much smoother the graph is. That's worth the money spent to me. No contest.

I have the Fp3 on my 16 with a built motor. I had the guys at vh set it up for me with the information I provided about my build. I had a power vision in it    wasn't very happy with the tune. I went back to fuel pack because I had one in the drawer.  Never looked back.  I'm very happy with it. Smooth, strong and great mileage.  Stuart.

I agree 100 %. A lot of A-B testing, proves it.  :)
