need a safe product to spray and clean chrome cvo wheels
« on: May 07, 2022, 03:27:43 PM »

I have always used dawn soap cleaning the chrome wheels on my 2013 cvo.
I found a brand new bottle of Meguiars hot rims wheel & tire cleaner in my closest.
Reading the back im not sure if would be safe on chrome.
What scares me is directions say wait a maximum of 30 seconds before rinsing wheel

Simple Green does a decent job. So safe it doesn't come with a childproof cap. I have a product from Maguier's I use on auto wheels (forget the name off hand) but it says right on the bottle to not use it on motorcycle wheels. Probably because it'll also clean your tires and leave them all shiny. Read your label on that one you have carefully.

P&S Brake Buster Wheel & Tire cleaner, Works great, spray on, let perk then use a wheel woolly briefly and rinse. Spritz with Drying agent like P&S Bead Maker and either blow or dry with a microfiber drying towel (I Recommend the ones from the Ragg Factory) and you have a spot free protected wheel.
Both products are Chrome, Paint, Rubber and powdercoat safe. I also use the Bead Maker on all the painted surfaces, spritz the wet paint then blow & touch-up with Microfiber drying towel.
