You might want to do that since you can not tighten them very much or you'll cause stress cracks in the windscreen starting at ea. fastener point.  Do not over-tighten.  Don't ask me how I know this.  :-[  spyder

spydglide -  thanks for the experience-based advice! Do you know what the torque figure for the bolts should be?

I'm sure it's in the service manual......wouldn't help me though since I don't have a inch/lb. torque wrench......just snug 'em up to be safe.  :2vrolijk_21: spyder

Great bike. Well done!
I own a bone stock Switchblade with 44 miles on it. Not sure if I will ride it or keep it as a collectors bike.

Buy it new and never use it?  Or get it from someone who kept it that way?

We have a 95 FXDS-Conv with the same windshield.  It went to Alaska and back without any loc-tite.  You can do it, and I would certainly consider it, but this bike never had it.

Wreckman - I still watch the switchblade market like a hawk and see 01 WG2's with under 1K miles come up every month or so. I know the dealers tried to sell these as collectors items but even the low mile bone stock bikes seem to go down about $1K/year in value. They may be reaching bottom but I have a hard time believing they will ever be worth anywhere near retail again. I bought mine with 4K miles on it and purchased it to ride the snot out of it. This winter is killing me, as I have to walk by the bike every time I go in and out of the garage. Can't wait to get it back on the road again. The only distraction over the winter months has been tweaking the bike as it sits there. Should be about how I want it come April/May.

See you on the road.

Finally got the parts for he new plate mount figured out. Had to grind off quite a bit of the black plastic mounting bracket but it looks much better (primarily because it is smaller and doesn't have that big HD reflector) and goes with the bike theme. The gold eagle looks great and the eagle bolts and HD bar/shield bolts turned out good. Light is poor in the garage but you'll get the idea. Anxious to get the bike off the lift and outside even if it's just for pictures.
