Finally got my heated clothing socket golded and installed. Turned out better than planned. This is the standard BMW socket purchased with the Gerbing accessory plug kit:

http://www.grandprixmotorsports.com/eshopprod_cat_2299-26140_product_346521.Accessory_Plug_Kit.htm

Can anyone tell me if you can run the battery charger through this plug? Was wondering if it would blow the fuse or create some other issue. I have the dongle for the battery tender already installed. was wondering if I could use this socket for both.

Found a nice metal hot topper knockoff with flame imprint (flames for heated clothing socket, get it) and dremeled off the sides and curved out the underside so it could be attached with doublestick. Had it golded along with the washer. Like the effect.

When I purchased the silver flame windshield plexiglass on ebay, that freed up the original piece of all clear plexi. Thought I would give Leni at krazy kolors
( www.krazykolors.net/ ) a shot at some gold leaf work to see if it would be something I would like (like there were doubts). Extremely pleased with the outcome!

Found some gold edge trim on ebay to replace the chrome edge trim and everything looks great. Considering golding the front side of the hardware. The chrome looks good and too much gold can be a bad thing. We'll see. The lower front spoiler is having some gold flame work done to it now. Should look great when all this comes together.

I think it looks great just the way you've got it.  Of course, I don't know what it would look like w/ more gold, either.  Might be too much as you opined......just would be hard to know w/o seeing it done.  Don't listen to D00d, he's trying to divert the attention away from his stock hinges.  :-[ har!  spyder

BR,
Great improvements on your WG2.  I've always looked at ours and wondered why they didn't put the chrome inner primary on it from the factory.  It really adds to the bike.  You can run the charger through the heated clothing socket, but the charger fuse is like 3 amp and the clothing fuse is like 7 or 10 amp.  You can run the 3 amp, if you don't add to much clothing.

Naw, nobody will beat him!

Why red?
I could say they're the fastest......... Probably not.
Prettiest?  Hmmm, maybe?
Practical?  (Re-sale red)

The answer.......  I just love that color!
