Also wanted some clothing to match up with the theme. Ended up looking great as well. These aren't improvements to the bike but having the scoot causes me to branch out into other areas. Helmet should be done in a few weeks. Just wait!

Have been cogitating on how best to mount the CVO coin to my bike for a few months now and think I have finally arrived at a solution. Looked all over the bike for a place I could mount it and be able to see both sides since it is such an outstanding piece and finally came to the front portion of the frame (see photo):

Gathered up the parts I think will be necessary and began fabrication of the mount.

The HD pin will go above the coin and the brass cross piece will cover the red frame cross piece with the hole in the middle. The coin will be drilled top and bottom and the 2 pieces of brass dowel inserted and epoxy'd. The dowels will go into the brass sleeves attached to the HD pin and brass cross frame piece. The cross frame sleeve has a piece of dowel epoxy'd to the bottom and two small ball bearings inserted from the top to allow the dowel to rotate freely.

Here's the cross piece and pin with the tubing epoxy'd in place. The pin and brass cross piece will be attached to the frame with the strong double stick tape 3M sells. The coin should be able to rotate freely in the opening of the frame. That's the plan. I'm 1/2 way through fabrication and it's looking good. Have to use my neighbor's drill press to accurately drill the coin. The brass cross piece will be polished and I am considering what if anything I want engraved, painted or pasted to the top of that piece. Thinking about having my painter script "Switchblade" on it. Input always welcome.

Finished the coin mount. Turned out well. Still thinking about engraving, painting, or sticking something on to the brass cross piece. Input welcome.

The coin rotates pretty freely but isn't frictionless. I didn't want it spinning in the wind.

It really fits in the opening well. The one distraction for me is the hole partially covered by the HD pin. I'll work on that.

Many thanks again to Sean for doing all the work on the coin. Since the coin looks so fantastic, I wanted to devise a mount worthy of the quality of the coin while still matching my bike. Wanted to be able to display both sides and come up with something unique. Pleased with the results.

If you have decided on a special 'name' to call your red & gold masterpiece, that's the perfect place to display the scooter's name. :)  spyder

I've asked Leni at Krazy Kolors to come up with a logo around the Switch Blade HD designation for this bike. If it comes out well, I will probably have him paint it in red on the brass cross piece. Think that would look cool.

Finally figured out what I wanted to do with the windshield hardware. Felt that golding the vertical and horizontal pieces would be a bit much but didn't like all the chrome with the gold flames. Had purchased the HD bar/shield bolts for my license plate holder and thought they might fit the windshield as well. Turned out to be a fit. Had them golded and I think they add a nice finishing touch to the windshield.
