Convertible exhaust options
« on: October 11, 2010, 09:49:11 PM »

Dudes,

In an effort to get a little sound out of my bike I drilled out the plugs in the exhaust pipe with a 1 1/8" hole saw using a long arbor and a hand drill.  It takes only a few minutes (and it's FREE!!!) and now I can actually hear the bike.  It does sound a little chirpy at idle but not bad.  So now I'm thinking about a new exhaust altogether.  I really like the Vance & Hines Pro Pipe but will that fit on a 2010 Convertible?  I would like to hear from someone that actually installed one on their bike.  How about slip-ons?  Any options there?  Slip-ons would be cheaper.  Please, if anybody out there put a different exhaust on their bike I would love to hear about it.

2smoke,
I have the Vance & Hines 2 into 1 Pro pipe installed. It clears the saddle bag fine and sounds fantastic. I tried the V & H slip-ons and the Harley SE slip-ons and didn't care for either as much as the 2 into 1. It has a nice deep throaty sound. Not raspy at all. I think the Harley SE are just a little too quiet.

That's awesome.  I love the Pro Pipe.  I was on the V & H web site but there was a note that I believe referred to something about the saddle bags.  Do you possibly have a picture you could post?

The Pro Pipe definately works with the bags.  Nice sound!  Now... did you remap your fuel injection?  If so, what system did you go with?  Good/Bad?...
