SERK 07 with very clunky transmission
« on: April 05, 2009, 10:51:12 AM »

Heeelllppp  - hoping someone can help.

Had my SERK for amount 12 months, the warranty ran out about a month ago and now my transmission sounds like there are rocks in it.
 >:(
Clunks when i change up, clunks worse when i change down, and clunks consistently if i let the bike slow down/let the revs off!

Had its 10k service not very long ago!

Any ideas what it could be? What I should check? How expensive it could be?  :nixweiss:

Would i still have a claim - bike not fit for purpose and all that ..... big things like this shouldn't go wrong on a bike this age surely???

Mind you, whilst under warranty, its had new wheels and two lots of the cyclinder head gasket jobs! Also, still seem to have oil leaking out of the air filter - is this normal??   :-X

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Ruth

Check the fluid level...Change to a "better" type of tranny fluid,,,check with Morris lubricants over on you side of the pond...

Just to confirm that problem has been solved.

All fluids OK - just the compensator nut come lose. All tightened up and ready to go.

Had a cracking Sunday bimbling around Snowdonia, Wales, in glorious sunshine - fabulous!  :carrot: :jalapeno: :cucumber: :pineapple: :pepper: :apple: :mango: :orange:
