Winter storage

 A member of our local HOG groupe read off a list of things that should be followed to winerize a bike. Most of them I understand but jacking it up and leaving suspended makes no sence to me. Can anyone explain the benifit of this? Thanks  KB

They get carried away with this stuff. But they say it takes the load off the suspension, and supposedly prevents flat spots on the tires, from sitting in one spot. I've never done any of that and never had suspension ot tire problems. Ya might wanna wheel it around in the garage once in awhile. But what they're suggesting is way overkill! ;)

You're also supposed to keep a couple of skimpily clad college cheerleaders close to the bikes to keep the leather in the saddles warm all winter.  Really.  I'm not makin' this chit up.
