Fantastic pics - thanks for sharing them. Just right to whet my whistle for our ride through the European Alps next week.

Nige... This might also whet the whistle for your upcoming ride through the Alps next week.  Was there a year ago and recorded images and videos while renting/hiring a bike out of Geneva.  If interested...

Have a great trip.

Have a great trip.

Fantastic report, pics and vids. You've set me up a treat for my trip next week. I have ridden a good few of those passes myself and they always take my breath away and leave me begging for more. This trip is not quite as long as our last one so we won't be doing as many passes, but we sure will be doing a few. We will be going over the Grossglockner Pass in Austria (highest in Austria) on the way home so we should have some nice pics to post. Thanks for forwarding the url to the thread on the Beemer site.

Here's one of me at the top of The Stelvio.

Excellent pic Nige!  I know right where that is.  I didn't make it to the German or Austrian Alps on last summer's trip, just seeing the Swiss and Italian Alps, but it leaves me with something to do when I return!  Have a fantastic ride... looking forward to any images and words you have when you return.
