As someone who has some similiar experience with your situation from a few years back, you certainly have my sympathy.  Not much you can do but let the healing occur and be patient.  I am sure you know that no good comes from trying to rush a recovery.  Your long term health is more important then an impatient employer.  It would be great if your employer hangs in there with you, but if not, your health is comes first...
