here we go..
Kolob Canyon off I-15 in Utah, about 15 miles before you exit off the freeway for the main Zion entrance
-
Inside Zion before entering the tunnel:
-
and another:
-
another...
-
precarious....
-
these were parked below that one up there^^^^
-
After going through the tunnel we came to this one, I believe called Checkerboard Mesa:
-
obviously named for these markings more visible in this close-up
-
then we rolled on to Bryce Canyon
-
another:
-
gotta have an arch:
-
and one more as we headed for Torrey, UT for the night:
-
on the way to Torrey we rode through The Grand Staircase our destination being toward the horizon in this one
-
we took the road seen in the bottom of this one, riding up that canyon
-
this is after we got up through that canyon and back up on top, looking back in the direction we came from. You can see the route right up the middle of the picture
-
another picture from the same spot but taken with the zoom:
-
that night we stayed at the Best Western Capital Reef which is at the west entrance to Capitol Reef Nation Park. This was the view out of our room:
-
then we headed into Capitol Reef. Our actual ending destination for the day was Durango via Capital Reef/Glen Canyon/Monument Valley and the 4 Corners. Here are some Capitol Reef pictures
-
another
-
one more
-
After leaving Capitol Reef we fueled up in Hanksville and head south for Monument Valley. We caught a small part of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Our 1st stop was an overlook with a view down onto Lake Powell. You can see a river to the middle of this picture and there is a bridge there that you have to cross
-
here is a zoom shot in on the bridge from the same spot as the picture above
-
Same spot, me on the right and my best friend of 35 years on the left. He rides on 04 SEEG Huckleberry. This picture is deceiving as the viewpoint is on a cliff about 7-800 feet above Lake Powell.
-
leaving the viewpoint and chasing him to the bridge:
-
approaching the bridge
-
taken from the bridge, the middle of the picture is the viewpoint we were just at. The highest one is actually the ridge a mile or so beyond the viewpoint. The distance from the viewpoint to the bridge was about 11 miles.
-
the next photo op was when we went down the Moki Dugway (http://www.midwestroads.com/otherstates/mokidugway/). Our next stop was Mexican Hat, UT and this was a 40 mile shortcut. The elevation drop is 1100 feet in 3 miles and those 3 miles are un-paved switchbacks. Great road to the gravel, not a bad gravel road down and great paved road at the bottom
-
going down
-
down
-
down
-
down, there is a road in there! The big green bush is at the hairpin curve coming down from the left before heading down to the left again
-
at the bottom, back to pavement, looking back
-
this one of that whole bluff from about 15 miles away as we head into Monument Valley
-
and....Monument Valley lies in the distance
-
closer
-
and closer
-
another
-
one more
-
and a short time later....lookin like a damn tourist :2vrolijk_21:

I just got off the phone with my friend and his wife and they did the same tourist picture that you just posted.
They were giving me an update on there trip and I was describing the area as they were talking, they were a little surprised
that I knew what they were experiencing, never beaning there myself. Then I told them to log on to the CVO site LOL
