I honestly can't take credit for the purchase of these hinges. We all know my mechanical skills are limited so much so that if any thing can be screwed up then I can do it. The major factor deterring me from getting these hinges was they are not a "bolt off/on" replacement. Due to the fact that a power tool (grinder/dremel) had to be used to remove the old hinges just skeered the "B-g-sus" out of me, and I definitely didn't want to take something like this to the shop and have a tech learn how to remove/install these hinges on my Tourpak. So now I'm faced w/the dilemma of having to wait until I'm around somebody I feel confident in installing these or really step out of my comfort zone and do them myself.

Again I can't say Thank You enough to all that were involved in this. You'll are an awesome group to be associated with.

Congrats Gary and thanks 2Ln!!    So, will it be Hinge-Boy now or what? 

My experience was also that drilling out the old rivets from inside the Tour-Pak is easier method. Just remember to save the little plates and Lok-Tite the screws on the new ones.

just make sure the blade is sharp.....

Nope, not at all. I've learned my lesson about that. The story behind the dremel is a member offered me one (free), but since I'm not mechanically inclined (especially w/power tools) I turned it down. I didn't want to take it just because it was free and not use it. Now that I have the hinges...... oh well you know what they say about hindsight.

Now that I've got to step out of my comfort zone I'm going to need some help in doing it. When looking over all the different attachments that come with the Dremel and never having used one before I'm going to need some assistance in picking the right attachment. In the next couple of posts you'll see several of the attachments of which I thought one might be the correct one. For those that have used a dremel before and especially those that have used the dremel to get the rivets out to replace your hinges would you be so kind as to tell me which attachment I should use. TIA.

The tool I used was the 3rd from left and installed thin abrasion/cutoff disk  ......1 disk would last about 2 or 3 rivets
