Another easy place to check is the connector for the ignition switch on the dash.

My 98 roadking had a problem with this once, the spade connections were loose.

I used 4" long tywraps to keep the connector on.

My 09 was shutting off last year and it turned out to be the main relay. The last 2 times I took the bike out it seems to have started again but a little different. Bike quits for a split second while cruising and then all is fine. I just put in a new relay again. Will ride sunday and post back.

Same with a buddy's 03, as soon as the relay got hot it died, started back up shortly after.

The relay that existed in an 03 doesn't exist on the newer bikes. Think it was 04 that got the change but that main relay was replaced by a maxi fuse. Entirely different setup on the newer bikes.

No problems so far. 8 bucks for the relay.
