Title: Non CVO running issues
Post by: HOGMIKE on December 03, 2023, 05:44:21 PM
One of our club members got a new ride.
We let him bring it along today but it kept dying on him.
Burns a gallon of diesel fuel about every 10 miles and seems to give off a lot of smoke before it dies.
Starts up again and does the same thing.

He got it back to his house and will check it out tomorrow.
Pretty paint tho.

I really need to pay attention more to the current motorcycle market. Don't have even a clue what that thing is.

Pretty serious set of rear brakes on that thing while looking like stock ones up front.

It’s a MTT turbine superbike.
Jay Leno has one of the first ones.
Been in business about 10 years I think.
Made to order.
I told him I wanna ride it when he gets the fuel system fixed.
Needs over the top brakes, no compression braking at all. Weighs less than my CVO bagger and has way more HP!

Has the same family turboshaft engine as in my son’s little bird! LOL

Very well engineered and very beautiful paint.

Sounds like it’s from the “Jetsons”

My bad, thought you were poking fun of the guy for putting diesel fuel in it…never seen one before so had no idea it was a turbine bike.

NP…

I’ve been fortunate to have had some some good friends and friends of friends with some very unique machines. Some of the old timers I hang with are in their 90’s but still sharp.

My friend Ted knew Rollie Free of Vincent speed record fame. Ted was (is) in the Vincent club and has pictures of his Black Knight Vincent that was one of a very few ever made.
I still take him for rides in his 2006 Ford GT40 (he can’t drive anymore) . We have some interesting conversations! He was a pretty wild one back in the day!

Got to ride Dave’s BMW S1000RR and Ducati Desmosedici (one of 1500 bikes made).

I’ve had many bikes over the years 1917 Henderson 4, 1926 Harley B model, a few Indians, couple of sport scouts, Chiefs, of course, couple of 1940 4’s one restored, one original. Many Harley’s and others.
When Jim gets the jet bike running again I’ll get a video with sound! LOL

It’s been a good run and lots of good friends!

8) 8) :o
I looked it up…278 mph!

I don’t go that fast! Nor do I ever plan to! LOL
We have a couple of straight roads out here that we can open them up with the bikes!
My whizzer tops out at about 40. Think about it, 40 on a 1946 schwinn bicycle! Really scary!

Isn't that the bike that will burn the paint off a car next to it because the exhaust is so hot?  :nixweiss:

Probably
I was standing about 5 ft away when he started it up and it caught my boots on fire…

Well …
Not really, but you could really feel the heat ! Lots of air coming through that turbine!
