Toll Booth Change
« on: March 10, 2004, 09:11:52 PM »

I'm planning the trips for this summer and once again it looks like I will be traveling through toll roads.

Find neutral, whats so hard about that? (just kidding)
what I do is just yell back GET CHANGE READY most times we don't even come to a complete stop. I realize this method is harder when your riding solo

uhhhhhhhh ............. I stay off of toll roads.  :P lol

I have had to pay at a few rallies, parks and tourist traps tho. Same as naitram in those cases. Seems like most of the time it was the pull off to the side of the road thing. Well unless there was a lot of traffic. Then I just made them wait while I dug for change. The way I see it, those cagers had it comin to 'em for all the sudden stops, lane changes and pulling out in front of me that's been goin on over the years.   [smiley=evilgrin.gif] <EG>

OK, before I headout out to a toll road I take Alprazolam, that's a must for going around Chicago.  I also tape a few folded dollar bills to the inside of the fairing or on the tank.  I hand it to the toll taker with my right hand and stuff the change in my pocket.  your biggest concern at toll booths is the oil on the road, very very slippery.

Several states are now using RF transmitters to collect tolls, in Illinois you can pay the toll at 45MPH if you have one.

That RF transmitter is called EZ-PASS and I have used it from Maine to Florida, the ultimate toll paying scooter device (it works on the whole east coast) I thought it was accepted in 48 states (federal standard) and it's FREE (you just gotta give them access to your checking account).

What kind of RF Transmitter do you need?  How's it work on a bike, do you have to stop to call ahead?  ????  I really need to understand this, 'cause I'm with you on the slick oil at the toll booth being the biggest hazard.  I've almost slipped down....can't get any purchase with boot soles..... We don't have toll roads here but we have lots of toll bridges! I keep dollars bills folded up inside of my fuel tank door. Its easy access, find neutral rolling up to the booth, open the door pay the man and go. I don't even need to take the gloves off.

I'd never have thought of using the gas door for a stash.  That's a great idea.  If you could see me right now I'd be dumb-slapping myself up-side the head [smiley=dunce.gif]
