Condor chock vs Wheeldock
« on: July 14, 2010, 04:52:00 PM »

I'm looking for a chock to use in the garage to keep the SERG upright. The Condor is listed on eBay at $230 and Wheeldock's site show's a sale priced chock marked down from $259 to $199.

Anyone here recommend one over the other or have an alternate chock they would recommend?

Thanks,

Howie

I have the Condor. It's fine, but was missing some parts when I got home from the show I bought it at. They were kind of jerks about it, but finally sent them out.  I've never tried the other one, but it seems it would lock the tire in a little more securely perhaps?

I was thinking the same thing hopefully someone with hands on can chime in. Condor's customer service not so friendly?

Harbor Freight sells a wheel chock for $39.99 for bikes that deserve a $39.99 chock.
When your away from home do you want to wonder if saving 30 or 40 bucks on a wheel chock was a good idea?
When we have as much invested in our bikes as we do, why not protect it with a chock you will never have to worry about.
Unless your storing a $39.99 bike, then who cares if it falls over?

I have the condor too.  Getting your bike into it is quite simple,  but if you (like me) have a 850 plus pound Ultra..........getting the damn bike (backed out) of one can be a bitch unless you have someone to assist you.

the one at harbor freight is a chinese knock-off of the bike-pro chock. the real one goes for $160 and works real well. it`s what i use in the trailer. don`t trust chinese welds, and it should be a patent violation.

IF your using it for the garage, MOVE it back a notch. I had the same problem,
but DUH, I didn't think of that at first. I use it on the trailer as directed, and NEVER
had a problem. I was scared as chit to use it as told with a $33k bike, but damn it works.

Not to be picky but wet weight per Harley specs is 924
Add a few tools and some misc stuff and your pushing around 950 lbs.

Why tools, it's a 110 isn't it?
just sayin

Hi Howie

I have two of the Wheeldocks. I use them in my garage everyday to save space on the SERK. With the spacer kit and trailer mounting kit I can use em on and/or transport all the scooters in the garage. 84 FXRS, 09 Nightster, 02 SERK and/or 08 SERK. I've had em for a while. I like the ability to reach down and activate the lock up with my toe while I'm sitting on the scooter. Soon as the clamp is up I just swing a leg over and walk off. FWIW.

These are all quality pieces been discussed. Can't really make a wrong decision.

Has there been any corrosive issues with any of the chocks noted above?

Thanks

I also have the Wheeldock. No corrosion issues, but did want to comment on their good service.  Had a different size Wheeldock when I bought the CVO and they exchanged it for shipping cost.  They only do that if you bought it direct from Wheeldock.  Nice policy.

There are many wheel chocks on the market and I have used a few over the years... IMHO, none as good as the Wheeldock!  :2vrolijk_21:

I have had two Wheeldocks for the wife's and my bikes a few years now and can't say enough about the quality, ease of use (even with a 900+lb bike), stability in the garage and in the trailer, the quickness of loading and unloading the bike from the chock and from the trailer, etc..

To be perfectly honest, I'm amazed that Condor (or any others with that similar type chock) are still in business, since Wheeldock was introduced.  :nixweiss:

Also, Wheeldock is a pleasure to deal with!  ;D

'nough said!
