Possible butted rings. Aftermarket mahle pistons are supplied with .005 os rings

Rings that butt togather will break the ring.........not the piston.

................and chances are VERY good that at LEAST the exhaust valve(if not both valves) is buggered......

valves are ok (just)
bit of piston material gone out the exhaust valve , imbedded in seat and backface of valve, maybe a bit in guide as well
