Title: CVO fender strips
Post by: kbcvo on May 14, 2014, 10:50:30 PM
So I thinking the Danny Gray speedcradle is going to be the seat of choice. Will I have to remove the fender strips for the passenger pillion. If so what is the easiest way to remove them. Thanks.

Thanks. so there are no issues installing the passenger pillion with the strips correct. I noticed in the avatar picture that you do have a passenger pillion and a tourpack.

The fender strips are made for the passenger pillion to sit on. I would try to put the passenger seat on prior to removing the fender strips. If it don't work, then try to remove them.

Some seat pillions like Mustang have their own bumpers that interfere with the strips. I drilled the bumpers off my Mustang seat that we're attached with a small blind rivet because I wanted to keep my fender strips.

I would not use a screw driver to remove them, maybe a plastic pry bar....  Anyway I used some thick string and got it started, then it just popped right off

i would add a hair dryer to loosen the glue before you start prying.  Wear some gloves as it gets surprisingly hot.

If taking off double sided emblems I would make sure the part is warm sun/hair dryer and use fishing string to cut thru the foam tape.

I have the mustang too.  I drilled off the rear bumpers as well.  I like the strips when using the solo. Hope you figure it out. Stuart.

I am not going to have to remove the strips. I only ordered a solo seat, so when my wife rides I will just put the stock seat back on.

I am looking into either buying  a sundowner ore a hammock, which one of the two is more comfortable?, I am 5,7...right know when I do over 200m I feel it...I have the Cvo RGC orange and in my other RGC 2010 I have a custom seat with gel and is just perfect but the company that did it went bankrupt here in Spain...Here is the picture of my seat in my RGC 2010

I have used both. Hammock is definitely more comfortable. Caution about the height, it will raise you up another 1 to 1.5".
