Street Glide Speakers blown
« on: October 08, 2016, 12:20:05 PM »

My 15 Street Glide needs to have all speakers replaced..

the tweeter and midrange speaker in saddle bags don't work at at all

the main speakers in the fairing sound awful.

has anyone else had this problem?

Wondering if it could be amps?

Any insight will be greatly appreciated

Time to bite the bullet and put it in something good. . No matter how many times you change out junk, you still have junk. . Just newer junk. .  Do you really think that junk isn't going to fail again??? . Your problem is not ever going to improve until you guys decide to put in something good. . I don't have any issues..  But I have the the speakers and amp that causes the problem to go away. . . Just my. 02.  Stuart.

Agree with Stuart, I went through a bunch of speakers before I finally caved and put in good stuff. On my new bike I am doing it the day I get it home and hoping the stock "stuff" makes it the 1500 mile journey to get home. I think it comes down to how loud you listen to your music. I have a couple of buddies that have never had an issue with the Boom system but they wear half helmets and don't like loud music. I wear a ff helmet and faster I go the louder I turn it up..

2015 SG, had the right rear blow on the 60 mile ride home from the dealer when I picked it up.  It went back 3-4 times before they finally found a bad wiring harness, once that was replaced no issues.  I ride with a half face and rarely crank it up over 1/2 way so that could be adding to the life of the speakers.   :drummer:

I am open for suggestion....whats the good stuff.  Did you replace both the amp and speaker?

Yes, Arc 600 series amps and Focal speakers. You won't blow that up. Check out Soundz Customz level V. I used my local guys but used their system they recommend for best bagger sound and it truly is terrific!

Is it possible to just upgrade to the focal speakers on the 17 CVO SESG?  Would it be worth it just so you do not keep getting the blown speakers I read about?

I did the same as Alan. . ARC 600W amp with great focal speakers. . . You have to change the amp. . Your amp sucks. . A big part of the problem you are having. . You should want to get that pos out of there.  Do it once. . You'll be happy. . . Stuart

You will want to do a amp as well. Don't have to do the Arc 600 but need to get away from Boom

I had a 2015 CVO SG (yellow/black), and had blown speakers on two separate occasions in 1 year of ownership.

The stereo is one of the focal points of the new SG CVOs, so having to deal w/this issue was annoying, but covered by warranty; however, after 2 yrs, then what? What's the cost of blown speakers and labor if no longer under warranty?

Does an ESP cover these type of repairs?

as stated before they are known for having the wiring harness pins in the wrong locations in the connectors if you were having problems tell your service department to check to see  if your harness for your audio system is correctly manufactured   I just went through this with my 15 CVO street glide thanks to people posting their problems on this forms I was able to get it fixed fairly quickly but I let my service department know what information I found here  !

esp will cover the hu, and the amp.  it will not cover speakers.  blown right front fairing speaker.....

I believe that connector harness that goes from under your seat to the left  amp  in bag  here is what was written on my receipt  in the picture

yeah, according to the esp paperwork,

1. Touring Package

     1.  Audio entertainment group (coverage limited to these listed parts):  receiver, tape deck, cd player.

I guess they are considering the amp as part of the receiver for this purpose....
