Fired00d, that worked.  :bananarock:  I thought it operated with a mercury switch or photo cell and I didn't want to break it. Thanks again, XJackX

The Mystery Button remains my favorite.

BTW, I have shown the "operating procedure" on that light to a person or 2 who were surprised to find out they had a light. ;D

The 05's had a mercury light that sometimes stayed on with the lid closed and a dead battery would result.  Changed under warranty to the push style light.

The real "Mystery Button" is my favorite. You all know the one I'm talking about. It's right there on the left side of the inner fairing. I thought for sure that if you pushed it in it would release the outer fairing somehow.  ;D  ???  ::)

Make that 3!  I just found out I have a light in my tourpack, it's like an early father's day present!  I know the dealer never showed me that, and I don't recall seeing it in the manual (or if it was there I thought it was an option I did not have).

There are no hidden lights in the side packs are there?

My mystery button has a number of different functions, depending on whos asking...

To some I indicate it is a fairing release, to others and factory radar detector... but my favourite is a turbo/nitro boost.

Pull up on the right side of a guy you've told its extra power, push the button, roll the throttle at the same time... eyes are always focused on the "button", not the throttle... they talk about it for days!

No lights in the side packs hidden or otherwise.  But if you press the horn in an exact sequence, it will play the Star Spangled Banner.

I heard 2LR sometimes keeps a spare dead cat in 1 of his, just in case.

No...but for some cash you can add them...they replace the bumpers on the underside of the tourpac.  The wiring is all in the tourpac ready to support...

The add on saddlebag lights are an easy install, I have them and they really work well.  Harness is already there, you just snap them in.

Since this thread is morphing into what you can add for lights on your luggage,  don't forget the new tour-pak rack with optional LED

Funny you should say that, I ordered the new luggage rack with smoked LED brake lights this past Saturday!  Looked too cool to pass up, and I was already there to order the Traxxion fork cartridges and Bitubo rear shocks.  :2vrolijk_21:

Post some pic's when you get it on.  Should be a easy install, my dealer did not have the rack when I was there but a tech said they it fits the same hole pattern as the standard rack, so should just be able to easily remove and replace withthe new on.

:D :D :D :D :D   I knew the light was there, but I sure wish the on/off button was bigger.  I usually poke around on the center of the light a dozen times before I get it turned on.

Oh yeah, it needs to be brighter too.  My 02 Ultra had the light with the mercury ball bearing switch.  I never had any problems with it and it was much brighter.

When I bought my 07 the  salesperson didn't know it was gps equipped etc, etc, etc. He actually told me to come back in a few weeks once I learned all about the bike and "fill" him in. Yeah, like I filled him in. THE MUFFMAN

Do the 07 SE Ultra's have the light in the tour pack or not?  I told a friend I would show him where his light is, and now I'm remembering that he has the leather tour pack and wondering if perhaps they didn't have the same setup.
