Auxiliary input for Harman Kardon radio
« on: October 31, 2008, 06:52:14 PM »

Have been using the Auxiilary input on the HK Harley radio for my GPS, I pod, and radar detector.  I've had a splitter to use GPS and Detector at the same time.  This worked quite well for some time but it now appears that the aux connector is loosening and the connection is creating static and engine whine.  I'm considering having a radio tech hard wire a 3 way splitter directly to the auxiliary line behind the connector.  Has anyone done this successfully, or another modification that would solve the problem??

Thanks, Framemaker

You may want to take a look at this thread - "How To" HK 06 and up Aux Jack to back of radio.

I ride a non-CVO 06 FLHTC, so I don't post here, but you guys are always full of useful info....

So, I'm curious if anyone has attempted to use the audio inputs on the 06 HK radio's 35-pin connector that are reserved for the XM and CB modules for other units?  I have a feeling the Infotainment bus probably needs to be active for those modules to allow the head unit to stop at that selection, much like the need to cut the trace near the front aux input, but I don't know for sure.

Thanks.
