use a 660 in my truck and on the bike. use it for GPS, as a music source (MP3) and even as hands free cell in the truck. definitely not junk

I have the 550 and have compared it to the 660.  Its well worth the money, you will not be disappointed.  the redraws are much faster and the detail at the turns is much better.

I have the Garmin 660 that I use on the bike and in the wifes car when we can't ride. It works great! You are right it is not cheap, but it is worth the $. It is NOT junk.

just changed from 550 to 660 and very pleased (with actual firmware!)

Got to ignore older reports as Garmin had some trouble with the early 660s.

You'll spend less time arguing with your partner about directions and more time enjoying the sites! I really like the feature where you can search out food spots and shopping where ever you are without having to preplan!

If you want to go cheap here is a link   http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=42813.0  for a cheap Garmin clone. I used it on a cross country trip last summer and it worked fine. Its not waterproof but a zip lock freezer bag took care of that when needed and was fully functional through the bag. Today I'm reading a ebook with it and will be using the bluetooth handsfree in my truck.  Doc

I have the 660 and am very happy with it. This is coming form a very directionally challenged person though.
