No NIM for 2012 Street Glide
« on: July 24, 2011, 11:31:00 AM »

The new parts catalog says that the NIM doesn't fit the new CVO Street Glide. ANy ideas on how to make it work, or if there is a new part coming out for my 665 to integrate into the new scoot?

Try a search.  There is at least one how-to thread around here from one of the members who made it work last year.

Thanks for the use search button post. When I did it the first time all I came up with was needing the assistance of a Senior Harley Accy guy to make it work. Maybe I'm not using the correct terms or something.

Ticitme

I was wondering the same thing. I wonder with the second amp how much the wiring has changed from last year? I would assume that if the portion of the harness that the nim would wire into hasn't changed it can be done. I doubt anyone has had enough time to go over the wiring diagrams yet to figure it out. I hope it can as I am seriously considering one of these bikes.

This thread was supplied to you on hdforums.com in response to your query there:

Whether the wiring on the SESG3 is the same as the SESG2 for purposes of adding NIM, XM, etc. remains to be seen; if it is, then the same work arounds that worked on the SESG2 will work on the SESG3.

In addition to the above thread, there are others from owners who installed NIM, XM, and CB successfully on their SESG2's.  Basically, all involve the same solution:  supply power and ground to the module (NIM, etc.) and supply the appropriate wiring for the module to the HK radio.
