Seat heater...anyone using?
« on: January 17, 2012, 07:54:55 PM »

It's the season for spending some time in the garage installing upgrades......and I've been thinkin' about these: http://www.checkcorp.com/seat-heater/specialized_apps_motorcycle.asp

The controller has two setting...HD only one I think.

Turns off after an hour....I guess that's a good thing.

Anyone with first hand (butt) experience?

H/D it has two setting also a high and low one of the best things on the CVO bike. You cannt ride very long with it on high you Butt gets to hot i run on low most of the time. To me its ten times better than elect. hand gribs the seat warms your whole body up like electric blanket does the only way to ride in the winter time for me.

Seat heat has to be one of the best "inclusions" on the CVO!  Never thought it would be such a big deal, but once you try it in freezing weather, you'll never go back!  BSR just loves it!

We love the heated seat so much, I've been thinking about adding a heater inside the BSR's backrest.

I did so and Madame is very pleased with it. Her backrest is now custom made and a little longer too so the wind won't get at her back any more.

I was just going to put one of the carbon heaters that you can cut to shape in the standard backrest - but now you have me thinking because she - and every other BSR - does complain about the wind coming up the back of her seat.  You know what's coming here......  ;)

I use this on my 2011 cvo street glide.

http://www.mustangseats.com/Product/76653/Heated-Touring-Seat-Plain-Harley-Davidsonreg-FLHT-FLTR-1997-2007

Only reason i got it is for the old lady, she didn't like the stock seat, so i went all out and got her heat. I must say what a hell of a difference. I put the stock seat back on to ride it to the storage place in the fall. It actually hurt to ride with that P O S and im only 30!

It also allows the use of the nice cable adjustable riders back rest.

What switch did you use, Hans, where did you mount it, and how did you wire it?
