switch is from a car unit (1-6), not waterproof so it got installed in the left bag. As On/off-switch I use the spare one in the fairing.

So you used the accessory connector under the seat, then, Hans.  I've been trying to find a waterproof switch for my project, so that I can mount it in the left armrest, or in the speaker pod, so she can turn it on and off at will.  Although you can get waterproof covers like THIS I'd greatly prefer a non-illuminated rectangular switch like THIS.  I wondered about filling one with dielectric grease, assuming I can get it apart and back together again.....

I was advised by my seat customizer not to try it. So as it proved to be very difficult over here to get a waterproof unit and switch we just took a standard car version and installed the switch at a safe position. So I still can vary the heat from 1 to 6 according to ambient temperature and put it on/off without having to ad an additional (and more or less mismatching) switch.

If you go with the waterproof switch you found you should be on the safe side too - if it works with the heating unit you choose.

I don't think it would be too difficult to dismantle a switch, Hans.  I hope!  ::)

Yes, I know the one you mean, but I'd rather have the switch back where the boss can control it!  ;D
