Title: 2011 Street Glide CVO Question
Post by: mdracr on January 30, 2017, 05:07:56 PM
I am looking to buy a 2011 Street Glide CVO.It has 13000 miles on it and appears to be mint. Is ther any known problems that I should be looking for? ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Lifters, lifters, lifters.

Stock lifter went south on my 2010 FLHXSE at 24K miles. ESP covered all $4k in repairs. Replaced stock lifters with S&S Premium at 44K miles to avoid another meltdown. Still nice and quiet and pump up immediately. Best bet might be to purchase an ESP.

As previously said, Lifters.  Its not specific to the model year, or street glide.

Its specific to the 110 motor.  I have had them fail in my 09 CVO Road glide, and my 15 CVO Road Glide Ultra.

It is the first year of the BOOM audio system. Had problems with the amp until they revised it. Also tweeters went too. It is a 1 amp system. They went to 2 amps (I think) in 2012. In all the sound system is ok once you get it right. Also the wiring harness was a first year also. It did not have the plugs in the harness if you wanted to add heated grips or running lights. You would have to cut and splice. So no plug and play. Oh yes...lifters, lol.

I love the color of my scoot and I have been holding on till Harley comes out with something similar. If you are not hung up on the paint lay out I would go for a 2012. They corrected a lot of the little things that were wrong on a 2011.
