Just bought a 2016 FLHXSE Street Glide. 

I noticed that when the sun hits the speedometer there is a rainbow effect and drip like effects on the lens cover. 

A  glass expert commented that the speedometer lens appears to be delaminating causing the rainbow and  dripping effect appearance.

I have already had one speedometer replaced and now the new one is doing the same thing.

Got to go back to the dealer with the problem but I thought I ask if anyone else ran into this problem first?

Any info would be appreciated.

X2 Gives the appearance the gauges were wet then dried inside.  Thanks for the real explanation.  Will put on list for first service.  My tach is the same way.

Yep...got the same issue on my speedo and tach, looks more like a film of oil to me though.

Mine was replaced last week, i didn't see it on any of the other gauges, probably a 50/50 chance it doesn't happen again.

I have the same problem on the 2016 Limited I just purchased I not sure I want them going in there to replace them you can only see it on certain angles or sun light. If they replace them I think this will create more issues

You might want to get it on record with the dealership and Harley now, then wait to see if they ever actually resolve the problem before having them replaced.  It sounds like this has been going on for awhile, since we have 2015's and 2016's represented in this thread, and the OP indicated his replacement speedometer has developed the same problem as the original.

Believe me i don't like anyone diking with my bike and i felt the same way, but i did want get it documented and when he said i'll order them i said ok.  And fortunately they didn't do anything, scratch, nick, screw up anything in the process, hope it is squared away now, but, who knows?

I have had the same issue on my 2015 SESG. Dealer replaced it under warranty. New speedometer is doing the same thing. Looks like oil film running on the inside of the glass. Dealer is replacing it a second time under warranty.

Same issue on my 2016 SESG, you can see it when the sun hits, going to have to take it in as soon as it warms up (glad Harley took all the knowledge of the repairs and fixed the problem---Ha)

The local dealer has a new speedometer on order for my 17 SESG, for this very reason.  I have to wash the gages again as I think it is happening on the tach also.
