Not correct.  That bike didn't come with one.

The only CVO's that came with the garage door opener in 2011 were the Electra Glide Ultra and the Road Glide Ultra.  Street glides did not.  If you want one, you can install the Harley kit or a similar one in the aftermarket called Flash to Pass.

Agreed.  I think the Electra/Road Ultras came with it.  I found out I had the transmitter installed when I bought mine used and purchased the receive from the dealer.  Installed and simple to set up.  Worth the money for sure!  Good luck.

Here's a very simple one:  http://www.mo-door.com/

That's very similar to what I used about six years ago except I made my own out of a spare standard remote for my door opener and a simple push button switch I bought for about ten bucks.  IMHO it's a much better approach than the Harley kit, since it works directly with the garage door opener rather than a separate transmitter and receiver.  In my experience the Harley system had short range and iffy operation, often requiring more than one high beam flash to open or close the door.  Using a regular door opener remote programmed directly to the opener resulted in about 2.5 times the range and it always works with the first attempt.  It also doesn't have any issues working with the newest openers that use a smart wall control, like Chamberlain/Lift Master/Craftsman/etc., unlike the Harley system.

I did the same thing Jerry mentioned. Much easier than the Harley option. Used a trip odometer switch from Harley and mounted it in my glove box door. Spare opener is wired to switch and sits in glove box. I can open my garage door 4 doors down the road. Range is excellent

Thanks for everyone's input. I have the Harley opener already just removed the transmitter off my 01 ultra but was hoping not to have to cut wires on my SESG.

Can I ask how did you wire the switch to trigger the remote button of the garage ?

Thanks

If you want to use a remote from your door opener, you would need to open the case of the remote and locate the contacts on the circuit board that are used for the switch the push button operates.  There will be two contacts, and you would need to solder your new switch wires to those two contacts.  Polarity doesn't matter.  Put the remote case back together, install it in a hidden location, and run the switch wires to wherever you want to install the switch.

An easy way to make sure you have the correct two contacts is to use a short piece of wire to connect them.  If you have the correct ones, shorting them with that wire will operate the door.
