Title: Rider backrest won't fit ?

I purchased a (used, but in excellent shape) adjustable rider backrest these past winter.  I installed it on the bike a few weeks ago but the seat doesn't fit.  I tried and tried but the mount seems to freaking tall, so the seat won't slide over it.  I'm I missing something?  It installed just fine, the lever, the cable, the seat just don't fit.  Anyone have this problem or they just don't work on the SERG.  Let's Roll

Take the part # for whatever one you bought, look it up in the HD catalog and see if it is correct.
