Who says the institution of marraige is dead ? My wife ( Linda) and I celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary tomorrow ( hicup - - ok we started tonight) and 30 years together as we met a year before we were married. We've loved, and lusted and fought and screamed and yelled and been through every emotion, situation you name it and here we are still together after all these years. We raised two incredible daughters, got them to 21 without unwanted pregnancies, drug or alcohol problems, saw both through college and cried when they were awarded their Bachelor's degrees. We've owned three house, bought more cars than we can count, more motorcycles than anyone deserves to own in one lifetime, had the wolf at the door and had the SOB for dinner. Yeah we've been there done that and then some.And you know what ? I wouldn't change a single minute of it.
Life is what you make of it. It ain't easy and it don't come with no guarantees or instructions, but if you work at it, it is worth any effort required. So here's to me and Linda. Raise a glass not just to us, but to a good old fashioned marriage warts and all [smiley=drink.gif]

So many folks told Jamey and I that we were not made for each other and to walk away, but we both saw something they could not see. Madly in love still, 21 married, 23 together. We did not have the joys and pains of having children, our only regret. But we have travelled the world and seen and done more than my limited country upbrining even thought possible. Like you, we have cried, screamed, walked out on, damned, forgiven, slunk home, loved, hated, cheered, consoled, prayed for, prayed at, begged, borrowed and have finally come to the point of comfortable acceptance and patience. Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. Big Daddy's sums it up in a nutshell as far as I'm concerened. Got some mild Santa Anan winds goin on out there today. Nothing we can't ride in and it's nice and warm. We're headed out for a little ride ( just the two of us) after the Patriots kick ass.

Congratulations to you both. Quite an accomplishment. I did a life sentence (25 years) with my first wife. I thought that was all we had to do and then move on. Ha. Anyway that's what I did and I haven't regretted it. Believe it or not the first marriage was OK as well.

Thanks again to those I missed the first time. We had a pretty good day. The Patriots won, we learned our youngest will be home from England next week, we went for a nice 100 mile ride up into the mountains. LD was a well behavied dragon on the ride and we listened to some tunes with the new rear speakers. Had a nice lunch at a little place up in Santa Isabel and a breezy but sunny and beautiful ride home.

We start on a new year together tomorrow and who knows what adventures life has left in store for us.
