Those indicator lights are the problem.  If not for them, I'd have Wild ! pullback drag bars already on the FXR4.

Jeff, I don't think you want to use pulback risers with the gauges. The gauge bracket it already bent at the angle to see them from the rider seat. Pullbacks will bring the gauges back too much. Try looking at the stock, or straight or 2"-4" risers, with the HD Chrome FXDWG bars. You might be surprised! ;)

Jeff....

I still think the 4" straight risers with a harley davidison #56085-83T handlebar, which sells for $49.95 and is 31.5" wide or the the F5 Flander's Handlebar ie: Bad Boy Bar which has a Drag Specialties Part # of DS-300133 and sells for $81.56 and is 32.25" wide are you two best choices IF you stay away from the "TAXI CAB APES"...lol....for "Howie's Benefit".

When going with the 4" "straight risers", because of the angle of the front fork tubes the "geometry" of the angle dictates that the risers will naturally come back to you and will provide some additional pull back. 

You could always choose the 4" pull back risers as well....and rotate the instruments back up to offset the additional "geometric" angle created by the bend in the angled risers as well, I am assuming you probably have already thought about that....

Here is the "LINK" to a great THREAD that will show you the choices of handlebars mentioned above along with cables and so forth.....perhaps you might benefit from taking a "peek" at it.....anyway, SIMPLY CLICK, VIEW, & READ:

Ya, I read your posts. That's what got the ball rolling on the handlebars as one of the quick upgrades I could do now. Thanks for spending my money. LOL.
I was looking at the same solution you outlined above as a possibility. I like the way apes feel but not look. Sorry Howie. I'm going to get this ol girl right this year, hopefully before the riding season is upon us.
