Looking at the FXRG modular as it is marked down to $300. Is the helmet any good as is it quiet?

In the past these have been built by HJC. Maybe this can help with your research if that is still the case.

Alan,
Can you ride at speed with the face up or will the wind snap your head back?

Yes, have rode at 80MPH with no pull on mu head at all. Had a Schuberth C3 Pro before that would pul my head Bach over about 40MPH. The entire chin flip down is carbon fiber (believe its the only modular like that) so maybe that has something to do with that? Whatever the reason, its amazing how that works..

Harley-Davidson FXRG Helmets are simply re-branded Shark Evoline helmets with an added price tag. I like them the way the chin bar discretely hinges and secures at the rear of the helmet.
Most other modular helmets bear an uncanny resemblance to this as a comparison.

I have the Shoei Neotec II, and it’s a nice helmet, even though it’s a bit on the pricey side.
