H-D Scratch and Swirl repair?
« on: May 22, 2012, 11:43:18 AM »

Just saw this on the MOCO site.  Kinda funny how we all complain about the paint issues and now they have this.....I had not seen this on the site before.

I bought into the hype and bought it about 4 bikes ago.  It is chit in my opinion.  Made the problem worse as it is a cutting agent. :smilie_daumenneg:

Try a very mild polish (like Griots #3) and a random orbital buffer for small areas (small pad, about 3 inches diameter).  Also, most pros will tell you to hand wax/polish in straight lines to avoid swirl marks (which is contrary to the instructions provided by most manufacturers).

Used it for awhile now.

Got some light scuff marks on the old Street Glide where my overnight bag rubbed against saddle bag lids and this took them right out.

I've used it a a couple of other spots and have always had decent results.  :nixweiss:

Same as what I have heard and it works.... if you think about it paint is applied in a back and forth movement makes sense to follow that same pattern when waxing/polishing.

Been using a similar older product made also by Turtle wax that works great.

Used in on my black '08 Ultra where the 2 up seat left a 'rub mark' on the fender that was exposed when I had the solo seat on....worked great!
