Anything filed with CARB yet? Something stranger going to be this late in the year and no reports out yet. Anybody got any spy shots of the 2014 bikes. Seems like every year in the past we hear something around June.

I heard that this is Harley's new ad campaign:

Now that's funny.  :2vrolijk_21:

However, the first thing that came to mind was George Constanza's line. "the sea was angry that day, my friend".  ;D

Less than 20 days now before we know for sure.

X2!! I just got off the Indian website and the bike looks very impressive and is very well priced. It looks like it is a seriously contender that may become my next bike.

Very impressive bikes...adjustable windshield, real leather seats, one hole lubricant, wind tunnel tested fairing, 5 year unlimited mileage Warranty/ESP, Integrated Bluetooth, digital display, cruise control, cast aluminum frame, Elite Tires, ABS....are you watching, MOCO?

Some serious competition, IMO.

Am I reading the specs correctly?  It lists the drive ratios for all six gears, then a final drive ratio, so is this a 7 speed tranny?

I would HIGHLY recommend anyone thinking about an Indian to drive one first.  I have an Indian fantic for a friend who dragged me to Milwaukee to do these demo rides a couple of years back. Imho, the thing was a rattling, cheap feeling piece of junk. Looked great, but everytime you gave it gas, the trans clunked, if you got it over 3000 rpm, you couldn't see out of the mirrors, and everything make it's own frequency of rattling metals.  Thinking I got a beat up lemon, we swapped bikes at the 1/2 way point, and the other one was just as bad.

Don't get me wrong, they are gorgeous bikes, but I just could wait to get back on my Harley.  This was right before the buyout, so I sure hope the've made some big improvements.

This is not the same bike you rode two years ago.  Completely redesigned by Polaris.

Nope, just a six speed (six is more than enough IMHO).  The ratios they list for one through six are overall ratios that include the primary ratio, the actual trans ratio, and the final drive ratio.  Then they give the final drive (trans output shaft to rear axle) ratio separately.

Thanks for the clarity, Jerry.  I agree, six speeds is gracious plenty on a bike.

Yeah, but I did not see lowers or a tour pak.  For my kind of two up long distance riding those are a must.

Yeah, but I did not see lowers or a tour pak.  For my kind of two up long distance riding those are a must.

Probably just a matter of time, Jerry.  They do list a set of lower "deflectors" for the bikes, but no photos as yet to see what they actually are.  And somebody will come out with at least some soft lowers.  But, I'd bet that they will have a set of actual lowers in the near future.  A TP might be a bit longer in the making, as the design is going to have to be carefully thought out to avoid the look of an "add on" instead of an integrated component.  Meanwhile, they do offer a nice looking detachable backrest/luggage rack, so one could at least put a good sized Tbag or similar.  But, I hear you on the TP...for the kind of riding you and your wife do, the comfort of the TP is pretty much a necessity, not to mention the added storage capacity and ease of access.

Give it a couple of years, and I think we'll see a few additional features being added. Perhaps a "limited edition" that would be CVO'ish.  But, it's a really good first edition, and from what I'm reading, they did some pretty extensive real life testing instead of letting the buyer be the beta tester like the MOCO seems so fond of doing.

Competition is good, and I think these bikes will be something HD riders take a hard look at.  Whatever one's opinion is of Polaris, they have deep pockets and have put a lot of effort in making this venture a success...I don't think they're going to have a hard time establishing a niche in the marketplace with these bikes, and may eventually start eating the MOCO's lunch and forcing changes in HD's marketing philosophy of "Let 'em eat cake"...
