I have 2015 CVO FLHXSE and purchased a matching painted king tour-pak. Try to buy a LINER, T-PAK - 53629-10 from two different online HD website. Included vin # receipt for tp and hardware. They won't sell me the liner since I don't have a CVO limited or RG??
-
Get one of your road dogs on here that has the Limited or RG to buy it for you. Easy peazy. :nixweiss:

try emailing jon horton at hornytoad hd. ask him for your internet price. looking in the oem parts finder, it does not show to be a restricted part.

I was in the dealer a few minutes ago, this is not a restricted part.

But for how much? Thanks, JC

Hehehe. Rots-uh-Ruck, there!!! I love to haggle, but have never been successful in exhibiting those skills at the Parts Counter of a Harley Dealership! Later--HUBBARD

Can't get out of a dealership without spending H-D = Hunnerd Dollars!
-
MSRP is $71.81 for part number 53629-10 - if a local dealer will sell it to you for that, you won't really save much trying to buy it from a discount dealer online after you figure in shipping.

Let me know, if you find a way to buy Iwould like one for mt S.E.S.G. W/ tourpack as well.
-
Surdyke is my go to place for HD parts, www.surdyke.com, 20% off everything, and normally get it in about a week when they have to order it.
-
Friend of mine bought one of the lid organizers for his Ultra Limited and I was surprised it came with the entire lid liner attached to the organizer. OP probably more interested in lower liner but thought they may like this as well unless the part number posted comes with both liners.
-
Surdyke turned me down even after I wrote an email with copy of receipt of the Match Painted TP. They said they would talk to HD and HD said NO.

Are you talking about the "luggage bag" that fits in the TP? I tried to use that part number and kept coming up with all kinds of useless information thanks to google.
-
From what I saw the OP's part number only fits up to MY 2013. Maybe they won't sell it to someone with the new style tourpak.

I got the part # from Ronnie's HD parts finder under 2015 CVO ultra in optional parts

The same part number is listed for the new 2017 CVO Limited. They did finally update the description though, so it's now obvious the part is the removable luggage and not the actual TP liner.
53629-10 LINER TOUR-PAK, REMOVABLE
Seems rather silly to me that H-D would restrict something like this, but there again it is far from the silliest thing they've ever done. Does this removable luggage have a CVO emblem on it to justify restricting it?

Yes it does. I just went and looked at mine.

Then that's the answer. It's restricted because it has the CVO emblem on it. The same thing applies to any other parts that have the CVO logo on them. They do sell two travel packs for king TP's without the logo:

I guess. cause it doesn't come up on Harley web site.

Put it in the cart. There will be a statement saying VIN required, that's how you know it's restricted. None of the sites I checked showed it being restricted in the initial part description, which would be the proper thing to do IMHO, but require you to place it in the cart and in some cases even go to checkout before you find out it's restricted.
Btw, I wonder if anyone has tried supplying a VIN from a friends bike that does qualify for the part. Do you think they actually check vehicle registrations in the purchasers state to see if he really owns that bike? ;D
Jerry
-
Thanks Jerry, already did that.

JC have you called the MoCo and explained to them that you're having this problem when you have a CVO bike and ordered a CVO painted to match tour pack but can't order the liner?
Did you try the same place where you ordered the tour pack?
I don't know of anybody using another person's VIN but I do know of a couple of instances where a buyer had a friend that had the right model, order the part for him. I suggested that to you in this thread, early on in this thread. :nixweiss:

Not yet, sounds like a good idea, thanks JCZ (the other JC) LOL

I've wondered but never tried this; it seems like a fellow could simply "look up" a particular model of CVO on for sale sites to acquire an example VIN for the part desired.
If this *doesn't* let you buy the part, then that means that it's being checked in HD's database record all the way to matching it to YOUR name.
Seems unlikely, but possible.
I bought my CUSE used. I didn't actually "register it with HD". I mean, I did in a way I guess the first time I bought parts, but I didn't prove ownership.

Try calling Rebecca at Tri-County HD, I'll bet she'll fix you up. Tell her you are a member on the CVO Harley site.

Ran into something like this replacing the tank badge on my CVO RGU with the eagle head badge. Tried to go through my dealer to give him the sale and due to them giving me a significant discount for buying my CVO there. Parts manager refused to order the part saying it was restricted while I knew well it was available all over Ebay. Kind of ticked me off after buying an expensive bike there that they would not even try. Called Boardtracker HD and they had badges to me in a week and never even asked for a VIN. Think I've read here the badges are not restricted.

If it gets too ridiculous, send me a PM. I'll order them on my VIN at Biketown (just east of Youngstown) and meet you there when they come in.

Used the part number listed above and searched at Surdyke. Went all the way to entering my CC info and it never asked me for a VIN. Have you tried just going to their site and creating an account and ordering one without calling anyone?
I do find this whole thing ridiculous. You own a CVO, ordered bought and paid for a matching TP from MOCO (I'm assuming) but yet they won't sell you a liner. Crazy.
Rob

Did that, ask for vin #, gave vin # deleted that part from my order with a refund!

We may have this resolved. We'll see if it shows up here. Without saying where so as to keep it off the net, let's just say I ordered it online and got an email saying they needed a vin. I gave them mine.
Local dealer who's normally very, very good with me on stuff like this said they have paperwork to fill out for VIN restricted parts. If I told them it was stolen then they MAY need a copy of a police report to go with the order. No police report (if needed) then they won't order it as HD will nail them with a $5k "fine" for not dotting the i and crossing the t. :'(
