Does anyone have pictures of the two seats or know what the difference is?

It's the seat pan. I'm not organized enough to have taken photos of the original seat.

Is it less flexable? Is the front longer?

It appears to be stiffer. Time will tell if it holds up, but not from me. Mine's in a box for the next guy, and I'm using a Mustang.

The seats look the same, and the new seat is no better than the old seat. It is no longer, and the pan is just as flimsy, We put on the new one, no gap, then I sat on it, and there was a gap, so we ordered the bumpers, I hope that fixes the problem, I like the seat, to me it is pretty comfortable.

I can`t see any visible difference btw. the new and the old seat. I have a problem with the seat rubbing the edge/corner of the saddlebags. How much gap do you have between the new seat and the corner of the saddlebags?  :confused5:

Had the same problem with my 09 SERG and ended up spacing the front saddle bag mount out 1/4" . Problem solved also have the new seat and no gap at all and it is harder.

Thanks. Spacing out the saddlebag mount could be a solution. Do you also have bumpers with the new seat?

I too have some rubbing on the saddlebag lid corners.  I am hoping that the C&C seats I ordered will make this a non-issue.

But....what did you use to space things out with the front saddlebag brackets?  I would think a nylon bushing would be best to preserve any issues with regard to the paint on the fender support.

Looks like an aftermarket seat like a Corbin is the answer.  :2vrolijk_21:

No bumpers where needed and not used. Had a chrome backplate spacer from and evo motor and it was 1/4" thick with 5/16ths hole it worked great. Had to use a 1/4" longer bolt.  Doc

Back to Hawg`s question. Does anyone have pictures taken from the underneath of both seats? I would like to see if there is a visible difference of the two designs and then verify which seat was delivered with my bike.

Well went to the dealer (first50 miles in the rain) and received the "New revised seat" and a bike wash :2vrolijk_21:

Improved over the original kind of  :nixweiss:

Now there is no gap at the console although it still does not overlap the chrome. So you can still see the rubber trim sticking out. If I remove the console and cut back the rubber trim a little that will fix that. sitting on the seat 130 miles coming home no visible gap "yeah"! Thats the good news.

While they focused on the nose they neglected the sides I'm only 175 and when I sit on the seat it contacts the left saddlebag lid  :nixweiss: WTF over?

The original had about a 1/2" gap so get some lose some?
Pretty fed up at this point!

So to answer the original post question the 51995-10 has a gap at the console exposing the wiring harness to sunlight.

The 51995-10A removes the console gap and also removes the clearance from the saddlebags, particularly the left side?

There you have it  :soapbox:

Corbin Solo seat is going to be my answer to the gap/rubbin seat issue  :2vrolijk_21:
