It is with great sadness that i share the loss of a great friend and long time riding buddy. Some of you met Mike (aka: stormy)(or as Boatman called him, dirty bike Mike) last year at Ribfest and/or Maggie Valley.
Mike lost a long and courageous battle with cancer this morning, please pray for his wife and daughter.

Really sorry to read this one Dave. Mike was a guy that when you met him you wouldn't forget him. I enjoyed riding with you, Mike and Boatman (Bob) last year at MV. I know he was great friends with you both and I am terribly sorry for the loss. Tho I only knew him for a few days, I will miss him too. Hope to see you both soon. Stuart.

I must have opened this thread a dozen times only to get teary eyed and have to leave.
I always enjoyed Stormy, although I don't quite know how such a quiet man could be called stormy except every riding story he told me included riding in horrible weather.
Kathy and I are prying for his family
Picture of Me, OhioDave, Stormy Mike, Boatman, and Kathy. Mike told me he was battling cancer just after this picture was taken in Lima Ohio last year.

Dave and Brian-you both have found great pictures of Mike. Dave knew Mike about a quarter of a century and I only knew Mike less than a year. He lived in Grove City, Ohio (southwest Columbus) with his wife. They both had a daughter, no grandkids yet but a "granddog" Teddie that he dearly loved. He loved motorcycling and was a great road captain. Never "wanted" to lead a ride but was easily persuaded. Mike wasn't ready to leave us but the cancer in his body took it's toll the last decade. I will miss him. RIP Mike..
