I learned of this sad story last weekend.
« on: September 15, 2010, 10:51:39 PM »

I had just learned that the stepmother of one of my good friends died in a motorcycle accident September 7th.

She was learning to ride on her new bike and it was her 3rd time on her bike where she ran off the road. (at a low speed)

There was very little damage to the bike, but internal injuries in a rural area lead to her passing at the young age of 50.

That sucks Jeff.  Having taught my wife to ride just a few years ago, and teaching my son this year coming, that really weighs on the mind.  Our condolances to her family.

I cannot teach any of my Sons to ride on the street, unless they pull that cart. If tragedy struck

I could not bear the guilt if I was the motivating factor.......they all ride dirt bikes now

I am not sure 16 - 20 yr olds belong on street bikes at all, seen too much bad stuff.

Young riders really need to be mature to accept that risk.

Some can handle it, most cannot.....................

Sorry to hear about your friends stepmother----I truly learned a lot on dirt bikes when I was younger , got hurt many many times ! ( always was a "tomboy" ! )  :stars: That type of experience creates the ability to accept the risks you mention !  Hold on to your train of thought !    :2vrolijk_21:
